I have the most amazing English prof this semester. He assigned an extra credit assignment over break comparing and contrasting Plessy v. Ferguson and Brown v. Board of Education and it was such a fun thing to talk about. For our final paper we're watching 1984 and then we have to compare it to our current presidency.

For women's history month we read a bunch of stories by female authors, we've read stuff by tons of people, many I hadn't heard of because my high school mostly taught us about white male writers :/

I love history, dystopia, and English, so this has been a dream of a class.

(It's just a basic English class, no political English or anything, just an awesome teacher)

Professor Hawkins, So, it's Sunday night 10 p.m Pacific time and I still have a quiz and an exam left to do. If you have noticed, my day after work was spent doing responses to my fellow classmates. Basically, I have gotten behind because of working the weekend, something I don't do, however my manager's out of town and I was forced to pick up his shifts. Thus, I am too exhausted to give my full attention to a quiz and an exam tonight, I'd rather not fail miserably on either of them. Again, forgive me for sounding like a broken record, but I was wondering if I still had that "grace" option available? Maybe an extension of some sort? If not I understand the consequences. On a side note, I have definitely enjoyed your involvement in the class and with my discussion posts. You've really pushed me to write more than what we read and attempt to find deeper issues that are not specifically addressed within the text. Thank you. Take care, -Steven Berbec

When I went to college, all I had to do was go to college.  Didn't even have to cook my meals or clean the dishes.  So I really feel for you guys, and I'm happy to be flexible. I'm leaving open your grades, so take that exam and quiz when you can this week. No late penalties.  Try to get it done by Wed night if you can, but if not, okay.

And I'm REALLY glad that you're enjoying/benefiting from those 'pushes' that I do in the discussions.  I'll be sure to keep up the pressure.  ; )
