Former Living Weapon watching their current team playing outside in snow and wanting to join them but not able to get over the fear of not being allowed back inside when they're done
Hey, do you think you could do more of that "whumpee's torture is played over a loudspeaker for the rest of the team"?
Heya! Thanks for the ask. I’m glad you liked the prompts :)
You can find the first set of prompts [HERE]
TW: violence, torture, self sacrificing
- The team can hear the torture very clearly: the cracks of the whip, the sizzle of the burning brands, even the sound of bone breaking or the squelch of blood. The one thing the team has never heard was Whumpee begging. They hardly talk during the torture at all, except for the occasional grunt or scream. But one day, the team is startled to hear Whumpee’s voice, panicked and pleading, not for themself, but for someone else in the team.
- Whumpee doesn’t tell the team about what happens during the torture, either because they are exhausted once they return, or because they don’t want the team to worry more than they already are. Or maybe Whumpee has gagged them or muzzled them so they can’t make a sound beside screaming in pain.
- One of the teammates hurt themself as they struggle too hard to get to Whumpee, and Whumpee notices this when they return to the cell. They ask after their teammate, and the teammate, a little bit ashamed about their outburst, brush it aside. Whumpee insists that they take care of themself too, and the teammate bursts out crying, holding onto Whumpee.
- The team wants to volunteer to take Whumpee’s place, and they have even agreed on who would make that trade. When they bring it up, however, Whumper asks Whumpee if they want that trade, and Whumpee say no, to the team’s horror and Whumper’s smugness.
I gotta love the when Whumpee's team meets one of Whumpee's old Whumpers but it's a Carewhumper or a manipulative Whumper that Whumpee views as a minor bother.
The team has to work with Whumper for some reason and the team finds out about their shared past. Maybe Whumpee tells them, maybe Whumper tells them, maybe they're both perfectly forthcoming about everything.
The team hates Whumper for how they treated Whumpee and always ask Whumpee if they need a break from Whumper or tell them that they can make do without Whumper but Whumpee just rolls their eyes and says that Whumper is harmless.
Whumper is far from harmless and the team is very concerned by the fact that Whumpee seems to be mildly annoyed at worst.
The team tries their best to make sure that the two of them are never alone but they keep finding the two of them together in increasingly compromised positions.
Whumper seems increasingly annoyed at being interrupted but Whumpee doesn't seem seem to care either way.
"You can't gaslight me, I know what you sound like when you're gaslighting me." "What’s gaslighting? I don't think that's a thing."
When Whumper finally leaves, the team is ecstatic. Whumpee watches them go with a hint of longing in their eyes.
Trick or Treat 🍬
Thanks for the ask!
Gonna give you a long one :D
Caretaker found Whumpee near their doorstep, heavily injured and shivering under some rags. Their Leader had told Caretaker that Whumpee had ran away and should be treated as a criminal if they were to be found, but Caretaker could not bring themself to hand Whumpee in for punishment, not in this condition. They took Whumpee in and tried to nurse them back to health, while hiding them from the authority.
Bonus point if Caretaker was close with Whumpee and was the only person who believed Whumpee was innocent. Maybe they had even tried to leave their door open or leave out some supplies in case Whumpee might come by. Once Whumpee was lucid enough to talk, one of the first thing they said was they weren't sure if they were welcomed at Caretaker's anymore.
Send me an ask with Trick or Treat and I'll post one of my unpublished prompts!
Prompt #98
Outcast Whumpee joins a new team. They are reluctant to join the team activities for fear of rejection, still warried from their past. Once they finally join one of the team's movie nights, they end up falling asleep against someone, much to the team's delight. The teammate whom Whumpee falls asleep on moves Whumpee so that they can lean on the teammate more comfortably, and another teammate gets a blanket to put onto Whumpee.
Once Whumpee wakes up, they half expect to be lying on the floor on their own and are now surprised to see how much their new team cares.
Prompt #106
A continuation of this post for @wolfeyedwitch
Whumpee who thinks being whumped is normal, until Caretaker tells them it’s not.
Outcast Whumpee who had never been listened to until they yelled. When they moved to a new team, they expected to have to do the same thing with their new teammates. Until Leader turned around and asked them if they were okay/what they would like to say. More to their surprise, Leader and the rest of the team seemed angry when they said their old team never asked after Whumpee.
Whumpee who cannot touch a certain type of common material had been quietly dealing with their injuries from the material. Their old team/caretakers didn't care or had told them to just get used to it. New Caretaker noticed Whumpee flinching and asked them what was wrong. Whumpee wanted to brush it off as something Caretaker didn't need to worry about, but Caretaker insisted on taking care of their skin and later getting rid of all the materials around Whumpee.
Whumpee who had certain expectations/duties on them from where they came from, which made them exhausted all the time. When they were rescued, Whumpee expected to perform the same duties to their new Caretakers and even started doing them without being told to. Once Caretaker(s) found out, they had to reassure Whumpee many times that they did not have to do that, and they would not be kicked out or punished for it.
Whumpee who was rescued from captivity/torture prided themself on their pain tolerance or how quiet they were. Caretaker, who was a medic that was taking care of Whumpee's wounds, found this out and told Whumpee that they shouldn't have to do it. Whumpee now realised how much they had to suffer and broke down in Caretaker's arms.
Whumpee who knew their situation wasn't good, but they had no other option then to endure. Once they got away to a different place or team, they half expected to have to deal with it all over again. They were surprised to see Caretaker actually be concerned about them instead.
Touch starved prompts (excuses) for Caretaker/Hero and Whumpee/Villain? Bonus with angst? (Angst relating to Whumpee's bad past and wanting to not be that person anymore.)
Gonna go watch a bit of Megamind for no reason at all haha xD
Also I direct you to this lovely set of prompts by @whumpwillow because it was really good.
Okay let's see
- Reformed Villain and Hero are close to each other, but Hero’s teammates disapprove. Villain can feel the team staring at them everytime they hang out with Hero, and the team glare at them if Hero touches them. This brings back all their thoughts about their past actions and how much they hurt Hero, and they convince themself that they do not deserve Hero’s kindness. Villain starts to avoid Hero, leaving Hero hurt and confused and in turn makes Villain even more guilty. They shut themself in their room and cry themself to sleep, wishing they can hug Hero again.
- Touch starved Villain who avoids Hero’s comforting touch because they don’t think they deserve it, or because everyone who has touched them nicely before had ulterior motive.
- Touch starved Villain who is not used to having people touch them or comfort them. Hero helps patch them up during a shared mission, and even though they are in a lot of pain, Villain can’t help but secretly enjoy the comfort of Hero’s touch.
- Villain with a dangerous power pushes Hero away when they try to help because Villain doesn’t want Hero to get hurt. (Bonus if one of their reasons is because the consequence of them hurting Hero is too much for them to risk it, no matter how much they want to give in and let themself be cared for).
- Hero is physically affectionate for the first time to Villain and the nice gesture spooks Villain out that they almost jump into a flight or fight state. They are very embarrassed after Hero manages to calm them down.
Could I get some prompts for a former villain now on the hero team? They're used to how the villains ran their operation, so they aren't expecting any kind of sympathy or kindness from their new teammates. Something with the confusion on both sides (the heroes as to why their new teammate is so standoffish, the villain as to why the heroes are being so... they don't even know), the fear that the whumpee traded one bad group for another, and the eventual realizations all around?
Heya! Thanks for the ask :D
Whumpee moving from a bad team to a good team is a favourite trope of mine :)
- Whumpee is guilty for all the things they’ve done as a villain and thinks that their new team is justified to be suspicious/unkind to them. After all, their old Villain team weren’t kind to Whumpee, even though they hadn’t done anything to hurt them, why would their Hero teammates want to be kind to them?
- Whumpee is cautious of new team’s kindness, thinking that it’s too good to be true. They don’t let themself enjoy it and keep themself away because they are convinced that the team will eventually get tired of being nice, and it will hurt less if Whumpee isn’t attached to them.
- Whumpee feels out of place amongst the team, because everyone has known each other for so long and Whumpee was their enemies. They avoid group activities because they don’t think it is their place to be there. Teammates are worried that Whumpee is isolating themself and come to their room to check on them. Whumpee is surprised that the team care.
- When the old Villain team demand to have Whumpee back, Whumpee expect to be given up without hesitation. They are surprised to hear Leader say the team will not give up their friend. A teary-eyed Whumpee asks “I am your friend?” and the team reassure them that they are 100% one of their own.
- Whumpee falls asleep on the couch of the team’s HQ because they overwork themself. They wake up to a pillow under their head and a blanket over their body. A teammate who sees them sleeping there has tried to make them more comfortable, and a half-awake Whumpee can’t help but snuggle in a little, bashing in the warmth of the blanket.
- Whumpee who is very touch-starved secretly wants to be closer to their new teammates but doesn’t know how. They are surprised to the point of getting teary-eyed when a teammate pulls them into a group hug. They think that the teammate mistakes them for someone else, or the hype of a victory might make them do it, but the teammate calls their name cheerfully and lovingly, and Whumpee just lets themself enjoy the moment.
- Whumpee hesitates when fighting their old team. They are afraid that the team will think they want to betray them. Instead, the team is worried that there might be some trauma about their old Villain team. (There is, but Whumpee doesn’t want to think about it or think that they deserved it).
There will be more prompts on this after I clean out my ask box! Stay tune!
