The Runaway (2010) pt 1/2
(AI-less) Whumptober Day 8: Siezure
(I had no idea what to do for this one, but I found some inspo and came up with something short. Hope you enjoy nonetheless!)
~~
Prompt 7: Seizure
Caretaker didn’t know what to do. They kneeled above Whumpee, their hands hovering over Whumpee’s body as they convulsed. Whumper had given them something and almost immediately, Whumpee was on the ground, seizing. Caretaker had caught them before they fell to the ground and gently laid them down. They watched as Whumpee’s body seemed to relax for a moment. Fear filled their eyes as they looked up to Caretaker. Tears welled in Caretaker’s. There was nothing they could do. All they could do was ride it out.
Again, Whumpee seized. A horrible, choking sound came from them as it happened again. Caretaker moved so Whumpee was leaning against them. Caretaker held Whumpee in an embrace as it happened, trying their best to keep them comfortable. All they could do was whisper words of comfort to Whumpee.
They talked about their life before this. Before they had taken this job. Before Whumper had them arrested. Before Whumper decided to torment both of them personally.
At first, they spoke of the forest both Caretaker and Whumpee played in when they were young. The adventures they pretended to go on. The enemies they pretended to face. Caretaker then spoke of the nights after the forest. When they’d go back to Caretaker’s home or Whumpee’s, where their families would have dinner or lunch ready for them. Where Caretaker’s grandmother would ask who they faced that day. Or when Whumpee’s father helped them make songs of their heroics.
Caretaker found themselves humming one of the songs. It was a simple melody with child-like lyrics—not something to elicit emotions, but tears started to flow freely nonetheless. Caretaker wept as they held Whumpee, singing about two children defeating a dragon named Clide.
All the while, Whumpee seized. Whatever Whumper had given them wasn’t fatal—at least not yet. All Caretaker could do was hope Whumpee would survive this. Hope that they’d both survive.
Just so they could go back to the forest again. And play pretend.
The Flaming Heart
Huo Yan played by Simon Gong Jun
Episode 6
While saving a little girl in a metal shed on fire, Huo Yan was hit by a heavy metal box that fell off a shelf. Seeing that the whole shelf was about to fall over, he quickly told the girl to run. The heavy shelf fell on him, knocking him out. Another fireman ran in and carried out the unconscious Huo Yan. Tried to revive him but he was out cold. Next scene, we see him lying on the hospital bed.
Missing scene: I saw a trailer of Huo Yan being wheeled into the hospital in an unconscious state. Unfortunately, this was cut out from the actual episode.
Episode 8
During an earthquake rescue, Huo Yan used his body to protect his girlfriend as a big block of brick wall fell on him, causing pain but no consequences.
Episode 23
While searching for his girlfriend, Huo Yan was attacked by a group of thugs. They beat him up with a bat, one of them hit his head, causing him to collapse in pain and nearing passing out.
He struggled to stay awake as he listened to instructions from the kidnapper before passing out. He woke up and tried to stand but struggled to walk due to his head injury which made him dizzy. Yet Huo Yan managed to get himself to the hospital where he was treated for his head injury.
The next morning, Huo Yan met with his girlfriend's.
While saving his girlfriend from a 3 storey balcony fall, the kidnapper was slammed a chair on his back and then hit him with a metal pipe which caused him to bleed from his head (another head injury) .
Huo Yan pulls his girlfriend to safety but was attacked again by the kidnapper. They fought and he managed to knock the kidnapper down. Unfortunately while slowly and weakly walking to his girlfriend, he was grabbed and pushed over the balcony which caused him to fall 3 storeys down. He landed on the ground, unconscious.
As he was taken to the hospital, his heart stopped. He was given CPR that restarted his heart. The doctors saved him but he stayed in a coma for a few days.
Good Whump
Whumper is on the run, injured and has no one to trust. Field medicine, stuffing cloth in the mouth the muffle shouts of pain. Having to dig a projectile out of their body. Has to then stitch and care for the wound. Love a disinfectant dousing which always causes some grimaces. Then dealing with the subsequent infection of the wound. Bonus points if someone they don’t trust finds them and ends up taking care of them during the infection.
Broke bones? Heck yeah. Suffocation? Sure. Cuts and bruises? Absolutely. On FICTIONAL HUMANS.
However.
ANIMAL WHUMP ISNT A THING AND SHOULD NEVER BE A THING AND IM SICK OF HEARING ABOHT PEOPLE WITH ANIMAL TORTURE KINKS ACTUALLY TORTURING AND KILLING ANIMALS LIKE ITS SOME SICK GAME SO BACK THE F UP AND LEAVE ANIMALS ALONE.
