"thoughts and prayers was all they'd do"

| when chappel roan got arrested, firecracker decided to check what this poor girl had to say in her songs to cancel a whole coachella. misty has never been to coachella, in fact she never really left florida before vought and she also didn't listen to much music. she wasn't dramatic enough to think that when she overheard doja cat rapping about "painting this town red" she was about to get possesed by demons right now, right there but she was simply nostalgic to her childhood songs. one evening she pressed random on chappel roan's spotify account and the first song she heard was "goodluck, babe", she played it again just to hear the lyrics right that hitted weridly close to home and then looped the song for at least 20 minutes. after that she decided that it was probably a crime to feel so personal about what chappel was saying and blocked her on every possible social media she could.

right now, lying next to soliderboy in his bed after getting roughly fucked and feeling him come inside her at least twice, she was pretty sure someone in her head had put on "goodluck babe" on loop again. especially after her mind drifted to you while he was actively trying to make her also come. your hands on her arms and neck, your honest smile and that dumb fucking smirk when you said her alias in that medical room. it almost made her actually enjoy whatever soldierboy was doing but not enough to orgasm which was honestly getting annoying for her. soldierboy didn't care. you probably would, hell you would probably look at her with that care in your eyes and that would be enough for misty to come right there. but you weren't there, soldierboy was and firecracker was straight and being gay was a sin.

"don't get killed" was a additional point you added personally cause butcher definitely didn't care about that.

that's how you ended up around the big circle table, listening to firecracker's propaganda written on a white plastic board. in few days you got your hair died almost platinium blond because apparently vought decided that it matches the color of bones. medically speaking it didn't but as long as they weren't putting you on cereal boxes you agreed on whatever they wanted. you knew that it wasn't a simple invitation but a request, a made decision and the only thing you hoped for was that it wasn't connected to you being a rat inside. the good side of sitting there was the amount of unpolished information you were having handled to you on a clean plate. and maybe getting to see firecracker more often but you wouldn't admit that out loud.

misty was on the other hand absolutely terrified when she saw you in the same room as every other member of the seven. in that moment you stopped being the quiet hidden person, she could go to to spill whatever was on her mind cause soldierboy still didn't care about her pillowtalk. you looked like a hero even without a suit and you knew an uncomfortable amount of stuff about her that nobody else did. and you also made her nervous in a completely other way than homelander did, she knew you thought that everything she was saying was bullshit and she actually felt embarrassed to say it out loud infront you. but she had to do so with that perfect polished smile and her accent that she could bet made you smile a little when she started her presentation. homelander could definitely notice that she was more nervous and that her voice was scary close to breaking but you didn't really seem to pay much attention, which was helping her case. as long as you didn't comment and only huffed at something soldierboy said, she could go through this without thinking too much about how you probably decided that she is stupid and nothing more than her words. unfortunately for her at some point you theatrically rolled your eyes at her words and god she was about to cry. for god's sake, she couldn't convince herself to believe in what she was saying and now the only person who seemed to see more of her was rolling her eyes at her. like a disappointment mother, like a priest in a church when she confessed her hatred towards annie as a kid, like a judge at one of the shows when she didn't fit into a suit made for her, like her father when her powers weren't causing people to say "wow" more "that's it?" . firecracker shouldn't care about that, she knew sage hated her and was just using her face, she knew soldierboy also thought it's bullshit but still wanted her because she took his dick in so nicely, it wasn't news that the closest people to her didn't take her seriously at all but she wanted you to take her seriously and right now it looked like every try to accomplish that got smashed into the floor.

homelander exited the room like nothing happened and you waited additional few minutes probably racing death right now so he wouldn't hear your heartbeat when you finally opened the door and walked in. you saw heros hurt before, you saw blood, shit you broke bones without much thought to it when your trainer in supe-highschool was grading students power control but what you saw there was close to making you throw up. firecracker stabbed in her head, her body still in upright position and blood spilling all over her face, suit and slowly dripping to the floor. not only he killed her but he did it in such unhuman way that you couldn't believe you spend years working under him. your body moved faster than your thoughts, getting her to lie on the floor, there was no heartbeat that you could feel with your hands but she was still warm which made you act instead of cry. theoretically speaking you weren't exactly a healer but you already got your fingerprints all over her and there were definitely hidden cameras in her room so it wouldn't hurt to at least try. focusing on rebuilding her skull you took her head in your slighty shaking hands and started pushing yourself to the highest level you ever fucking tried. your vision started tunneling at some point but she stopped bleeding and that was motivating enough to keep this crazy act of saving going. you weren't even fucking friends, she was just a supe like any other, naive enough to get herself killed by someone she thought was a superior being and you still couldn't let her die like that. she was more than that and you noticed way too many times how much it meant for her when you didn't treat her as just a puppet. well you definitely wouldn't be healing her brain if she was just a puppet. skull protected everything inside so when you did everything you possibly could the only thing left was to hope that the healing abilities that naturally come with compound v will do the rest. you weren't sure, hell if someone would tell you to guess if it worked you would say no but you were going to fucking try.

that's how firecracker or now more misty tucker gray ended up lying unconscious on your couch in your small apartment in the city. you mostly slept at the tower since supes treated you like a doordash delivery no matter the hour but you made enough money to buy your own place and now it definitely came in handy. even though you never spend much time in here, lately mainly to pick up phones calls from butcher and send him updates it was still pretty lived in, blanket thrown over the couch, medical books on the table, bed not made for ages and coffe stained cups everywhere you can possibly think of. you were sitting on the floor back to the couch checking misty's pulse every few minutes and looking at the stab wound now looking way better on her head. everything you did back there, acting on pure instinct and emotions was equal to never going back there and you knew it. sooner or later they would figure out who took the body, in the worse case scenario where and get rid of both you. you had a backup plan which was joining the boys but bringing firecracker there seemed like the craziest idea ever. her and annie cooperating? that was closer to genocide than the supe-killing virus honestly. but you knew you had to tell them eventually, that you accidentally recruited firecracker on the team if she would actually wake up. hard on the "if" part.

misty honestly could not believe that a girl that made her question her whole life lately, cared also and not just a little - enough to bring her back to life. the words "deserve" replayed over and over in her head just like that dumb chappel roan song before, because she thought that she deserves a death exactly horrible like that. not only for imagining herself with another women but also for so stupidly following homelander around when he killed her on random wednesday when she stopped being useful to him. but here you where looking over her like she was something worth taking care of, something worth leaving everything you had behind. she knew you weren't a healer, the amount of strength you had to put in bringing her back was probably more than anyone ever in her life did for her and you owed her nothing. you did it simply cause she mattered enough. the next words where carefully chosen between the two of you, you didn't share much details of what exactly happened but you did state that there is no going back there, cause for vought firecracker is dead. she nodded mostly but also thanked enough amount of times that you told her to stop and that finally made her crack a broken laugh.

she was stuck on the couch for the rest of the day and the first night but it didn't stop both you from talking. you made her dinner and would bring water, whenever her eyes would drift towards your cup but she would feel like you gave her too much already to ask for something so simple. her personality came back fully at some point and you ended up flirting with her with a smirk on your face cause she was failing misreably to keep her face nonchalant. she asked about your real name at some point and it felt weridly intimate to share something so personal. you would make fun of her while tossing a blanket for the night but still made sure she felt well enough to get up and take a shower. misty looked so domestic in one of your oversize tshirt that ironically was a piece of gigi perez merch that it felt almost normal somehow. like a day ago she wouldn't be dead and you weren't sitting at a table with people that right now wanted to kill you. you didn't regret it for half of a second even, she was so much more than that polished television persona and you were so glad that you saw it before it was too late. she definitely did not deserve to die like that.

| the first thing you learned while sharing your flat with firecracker for few days was that she loved cleaning. whatever it was a coping mechanism or something she took with herself out of her childhood, your place was never cleaner. first few times you told her she doesn't have to do that but right now you were simply enjoying an organized kitchen and she seemed to enjoy somehow paying you back for saving her. the other thing was that this women is a definiton of a yearner, she wasn't clingy exactly but a conversation with her was almost never ending. she was visibly proud of herself when you would laugh or match her bite and god you loved seeing her smile. there was ton of things so deeply rotted inside her that you wondered how she didn't kill herself without anyone to talk with. misty also stared at you a lot. and i mean like all the time. at your face when you were talking, at your body that she once called "athletic" whenever you would change into a more fitting top (which she never did) and generally in your direction like she needed to be sure you were still with her. or maybe she just enjoyed the view more than she would like to admit. both of you didn't exactly trusted eachother at first, getting into a more heated conversation when she accused you that you could break her spine right now and how it made you untrustworthy somehow. you agreed that you could and you could bet she got scared for a second so quickly added that you won't, cause the whole saving mission of her would be not worth that. that made her laugh way more than hearing the truth about your connections to butcher and the supe-killing virus but what got her even more stressed was the idea of eventually joining annie and the boys. fortunately, there was no rush to it as your weridly domestic life seemed pretty great right now.

you were tangled in your sheets, sprawled across almost the whole bed. the window was slighty open giving misty finally some fresh air to help her calm down her breathing. she looked at you, your face so relaxed, still, without any sarcasm or jokes anymore. you barely opened your eyes at her standing in the doorway and lifted the blanket up. when she carefully joined you under the sheets you immediately felt the warmth radiating from her, she kept her distance of course but you could still hear her sped up breath and feel how tense she was. so you made sure to ressure her that if it was homelander coming for her the building wouldn't be standing anymore. your voice was rough with sleep in such a satisfying way for misty that at some point it was all she could focus on. you kept talking for few minutes telling her to listen to whatever you were saying so she could relax. god, you cared enough to make sure she felt safe, you invited her to your own bed. she was sharing a bed with another women, that made her heart jump whenever your hips would bump into hers in the kitchen corridor. but firecracker didn't care right now about any fucking religion cause for the first time in ages she felt actually safe.

- you cuddle everyone like that? - you murmured sleeply in the morning after waking up with a strange weight over your waist that happened to be firecracker's arm. she was closer to you than anyone in good few years, her head almost touching your shoulder.

- soliderboy didn't ask that - misty was still half-asleep so she didn't really care about whatever she was saying to you right now or how the position she ended up in was definitely far from platonic sleepover

- he didn't like me pillowtalk - misty mumbled not aware of pulling herself even closer to you, you were warm and your voice rough with sleep a sound she enjoyed so much.

you went quiet after that, a slow realization settling in your head, that he really was just another person that misty wanted to be loved by. god this women really did not deserve everything she went through. both you lied tangled in eachother for another few minutes sometimes exchaning some words, you asked how she felt and you could bet she blushed at the question hiding her head in your shoulder and tightening her grip over your waist. god, she was stunning like that without the perfect makeup and suit personalized to make her body look ideal. her accent was way stronger like usually when she was tired or sleepy and you given up on pretending it didn't drive you absolutely crazy. the cozzines of the situation kept going till misty didn't wake up enough to actually realize how both you were lying on the bed. it's not like she jerked away but moved fast enough for you to notice that she did it on purpose, her face also went back into that controlled state she usually was in.

- i started burning you or what? - you joked hoped to loose up her realization. maybe the joke wasn't exactly right considering her belives and burning in hell but it was too late to take it back right now

- didn't mean to make you uncomfortable - jesus christ, the way she said those words that eastern accent, her gaze shyly avoidining yours but her body still angled slighty towards you like she didn't actually want to move away

- i don't rembember the last time i woke up like this but i've never said it was uncomfortable - that was 100% true and that honesty in your voice made her turn towards you again

she said something back, probably apologizing again but you were too far gone admiring the way she looked at you. she was lifting herself up slightly on her arm, looking at you down with that eyes and fluttering eyelashes. your hand went automatically to her arm and she tensed instantly for a second. you joked in response that touching another women doesn't make her go to hell and she said something about how she will end up there anyway. you didn't comment, you just kept moving your fingers in a repetitive motion up and down her skin still carefully looking for any sight she wants to move away but doesn't for any reason she could possible make up in her head. she overthinked a lot and usually tried to make herself smaller around you. instead of that you couldn't help but notice how her gaze more obviously now has fallen to your lips. her own were parted slightly, her breathing faster after you matched what she was doing just to check if she was actually looking for maybe a permission or if you just read too much into that situation. theoretically you probably should wait and let her set the pace of whatever was going on, you knew she was way more than experienced in sex but doing anything with a women was a forbidden dream for her few weeks ago, but you couldn't help but lift your head from the pillow and move closer to her face.

See this normally wouldn’t be a big deal, but you’re not a boy. You’re a girl. It’s different if you compare you and Ron. Hermione goes to you for everything and the both of you are extremely close.

You didn’t want to ruin your friendship first of all, second of all, same gender relationships arent seen the same way as opposite genders.

But merlin you can’t shake off that feeling you first felt 2 years ago.

You were laying in your bed thinking about Hermione, wondering if this could ever work, before, speak of the devil, Hermione came crashing in with a huge grin to her face.

“Viktor Krum asked me to the ball!” She squealed with excitement.

“Are you kidding?? Im so happy for you ‘Mione!” You said smiling for her, knowing deep down you were upset. You couldn’t have gone with her anyway, what were you thinking?

“Im so happy! I didn’t think he’d ask me of all people? I mean, come on, this id Krum we’re talking about.”

“Well i know a certain ginger who’d be upset Krum didn’t ask him out” you said cracking a joke causing Hermione to laugh.

God that laugh was to die for. The way she smiled and the sun shone on her face through the window making her shine brighter.

“Talk about the ball, i still dont have anyone to go with.” You said sighing “may as well no go at all”

“Are you kidding? I couldn’t possibly go to the ball without my bestfriends support.” Hermione said.

It’s not that no one asked you out, plenty of guys did, you just weren’t interested. Not because they were terrible guys, the guys that asked you out were all sweet guys, you just were uninterested in men, that’s the issue.

You wished it were Hermione. But who knows if she’s even into girls, let alone into you!

“Plenty of boys don’t have a date yet, im sure there’s someone out there.” She said, with of course good intention. She didnt know you werent interested in boys.

“Yeah, im sure.” You said smiling, trying to disguise your dissapointment.

“Better get going, Harry needs me” you said.

“Alright, meet me here once you’re done, i still have a lot to say”

“Will do, tell me all about his confession, yeah?” You replied seemingly enthusiastic and interested, before leaving to find Harry.

Harry’s one of the few people you know wouldn’t judge you, as not only does he understand the muggle world, he’s not homophobic either.

You came out to him last year, because he mentioned the way you stare at Hermione, pay attention to her, wasn’t the same way you did with any other person.

Let alone have you ever shown interest in guys.

You saw Ron in the common room talking with the other guys. “Ron, do you know where Harry is?”

“Yeah, he’s in the library, still trying to figure out the second task.” Ron replied.

“Alright, thanks Ron.”

You then left to find Harry at the library.

As you entered the library you went to go look for him. Maybe you could help him while also talking to him as well.

“Harry, hey” you said approaching him.

“Oh, Hiya Y/n, can i help you?”

“No, but im sure i can help you!” You said with a grin.

“Be honest what’s wrong”

“How’d you know”

“Answer me first, then i’ll tell you” he offered.

“Hermione’s going to the yule ball with Viktor krum” you frowned.

“Seriously, Krum? Wow Ron’s gonna be jealous, he’s heads over heels for Krum” Harry said trying to lift the mood.

“Hah, i said the same to her” you said before frowning again.

“Oh come on, no need to frown. Dissapointments happen, its okay.”

“Youre right, how’s it going with your research”

“Not great. Im so lost.” He huffed.

“That makes the two of us.” You said laughing.

“It’s okay, ill help you instead of moping around.”

“You can always talk while you help me search” he offered.

“Appreciate it, but it wont change the past.”

“Have you asked Cho yet?” You said curiously.

“Yeah, she rejected me.”

“Oh, hey whad’ya say we both go to the yule ball platonically?” You offered. “Id rather go with you, if i cant with Hermione.”

“Sounds like a plan.”

The both of you ended up researching, with no luck of course.

After a long deeptalk with Harry and the both of you being unable to find out anything, you just headed back to your common room. It was really late.

As you entered inside your dorm, you were met with those beautiful pair of eyes you were so obsessed with.

“Y/n! Took you long enough, what took you and Harry so long?” She whisper-yelled curiously.

“Was helping Harry figure out his second task, no luck unfortunately.”

“Hey, you could’ve just called me!” she complained until she gasped.

“Are you into Harry?!”

“What?”

“It makes soo much sense now! Constantly hanging around him, searching for him everywhere! That’s adorable! And hey, last time i checked he doesn’t have a date either.” She winked.

“Well, he does now, im going to the dance with him, not because i like him, but because he’s my friend!” You said defending yourself.

God this sucks. The girl who you’re into is convinced you like your friend.

“That’s so cute! Did he ask or did you?”

“I did, but thats because-“

“I knew it! Im so happy for you” she said hugging you.

The next day

As the next day had arrived, you, Hermione, Harry and Ron were sitting in the great hall, doing your tasks given by snape.

By now many people already have dates. “This is mad! At this rate we’ll be the only ones in our year without dates.” Ron said before Snape pushed his head down.

“Speak for yourself, I’m going with Harry.” You mumbled doing your task with Hermione.

“You two a thing now? I saw others asking you out, so it cant be that no one asked you.” Ron questioned.

“Just wasnt interested. Me and Harry are going platonically.”

“Well atleast Neville doesnt have anyone” Ron said before Harry added.

“Probably going to take himself”

Hermione then said “it might interest you that Nevilles already got someone.”

“Ugh, now im really depressed.”

As Ron uttered those words, his elder brother Fred slid him a note, which read “get a move or all the good ones will have gone.”

“Who you going with then?” He asked bothered.

So the twin threw his note at Angelina while mouthing and gesturing if shed go to the ball with him. She nodded with a smile, clearly agreeing.

This caused Ron to be even more bothered. “Well Hermione, you’re a girl.”

“Well spotted.” She said, with Harry trying to get Rons attention, as Snape was coming closer. Clearly too slow as the two got hit by snapes book, with Harry getting a double hit.

“Its one thing for a bloke to show up alone, but for a girl it’s sad.”

This caused Hermione to be annoyed.

“I wont be going alone, because someones already asked me! Y/n meet me out the hall once youre done.” She said agitated before leaving and giving the Professor her work.

You just nodded before looking at Harry. As Hermione went back she looked Ron dead in the eyes before saying “And i said yes!”

“Bloody Hell.. She’s lying, right?” He asked looking at Harry.

“She isn’t” you said rolling your eyes hurriedly trying to finish your work.

“I’ve got to hurry up and do something. Tonight when i get back, ill have a partner.”

You rolled your eyes before giving your work to snape. As you left you just heard two groaning guys. Safe to assume that was Harry and Ron.

As you left the Hall, you were met with a bothered Hermione.

“He’s an ass, isn’t he?” You said.

“He sure is! Bold of him to assume im going alone! I hate him” she groans before embracing you.

“Im grateful to have you” she says mumbling into your shoulder.

“Same here.”

“Well we better get to trying on our gowns, shouldnt we? The Ball is soon!” She says trying to change the subject before dragging you back to your common rooms.

Time skip to the yule ball

It was now the evening of the Yule ball. You were fully dressed and had your makeup done and all.

As you walked out with your hair done in a half up half down with beautiful curls. You were wearing a gorgeous long and flowy gown with (your favourite colour) and gorgeous patterns.

You admired yourself in the mirror, before you heard Hermione call out your name.

“Y/n! Can you help me zip up my robe?”

“Yeah of course”

You shakily helped zip her dress up. She looked so breathtaking.

As she turned around to face you, she looked at you longingly.

“You look-“

The both of you said at the same time before bursting out laughing.

“You look so gorgeous” you said hugging her.

“Says you! Harry’s not gonna be able to take his eyes off you”

that just ruined your whole mood.

“Yeah, well I’m sure Krum is going to be mesmerized by you!” You said trying to change the subject.

“I hope so! Although i do wish someone else would be too..” she mumbled the last part.

“Ah, its nothing.. well we better get going!” She said.

As the two of you arrived together at the Yule Ball, you caught the stares of Harry and Ron.

“Looks like Harry cant take his eyes off you” she teased

“Oh stop it!” You said with a joking scoff.

“Hiya Harry” you said with a smile.

“Hey, you look good” he said complimenting.

“Yeah, someone else does aswell..” you mumbled before he patted your shoulder.

“Hermione’s with Krum?” You suddenly heard Ron say.

“Ah yeah, did you not know?” You asked

“No? You’re her bestfriend of course you’d know! She tells you everything” he said annoyed.

“I knew too” harry added

“Why did i not know?”

“You never asked” you said shrugging.

This just caused Rons mood to get worse. You didnt know what was up with him, but clearly he wasnt too amused this year.

McGonagall then came up to you and Harry.

“There you are Potter! Are you and Miss L/N ready?”

“Ready, professor?” Harry asked

“To dance! It’s traditional that the three champions, well in this case four, are the first to dance. Surely i told you that?”

“No”

“Oh, well now you know” the woman replied.

She then took a look at Ron saying “oh, as for you Mr. Weasly, you may proceed into the great Hall with Miss Patil.”

As Ron left off with his partner, you couldnt help but catch Harry staring at Cho.

“Guess we both want people we cant have.” He said.

“Let’s talk about this later, now’s not the time to get all emotional” you said trying to lift the mood.

“You’re right.”

After the champions danced, you couldnt help but sit down with Harry, Ron and his dance Partner, who also couldnt be too amused to be with Ron.

Although, one of the students of Durmstrangs asked his Partner to dance.

A very please Hermione came over, leaving Krum alone for a bit came to join the three of you, after getting her Hand kissed by Viktor.

“Hot, isnt it?” She said sitting next to you. “Viktors gone to get us drinks. Would you care to join us?”

“No, we dont care to join you and Viktor.” Ron said annoyed.

“Speak for yourself” you mumbled.

“Whats got your wand in a knot?” Hermione said asking Ron.

“He’s a durmstrang! Youre fraternizing with the enemy.”

“The enemy? Who was it wanting his autograph? Besides the whole point of the tournament… is international magical corporation! To make friends.”

“Huh, i think hes got a bit more than friendship on his mind.”

Hermione then left bothered by him.

“Ron, whats up with you? If you wanted to ask Hermione to the dance you shouldve asked before Viktor did! God. I’ll go check up on her” you said scolding Ron before turning to Harry, who nodded.

Ron later then walked up to you and Hermione, who were walking out of the Hall saying “He’s using you.”

“How dare you! Besides, I can take care of myself!”

“Doubt it! He’s way too old.”

“Yeah, that’s what i think!”

“You know the solution then, dont you?” You said to Ron defending the girl you love.

“Go on.” He said

“Next time, there’s a ball, pluck up the courage to ask me before someone else does and not as a last resort!” Hermione said breaking out in tears.

“Well.. i- that’s just- thats just completely off the point! Harry!”

“Where have you been!” You said concerned.

“Nevermind that! Off to bed, both of you!” Hermione said already bothered.

The two boys listened storming off causing Hermione then to break down on your shoulder.

You sat the girl down letting her cry on your shoulder as much as he needed to.

“He’s such an idiot! I despise that guy, i really do!” She sobbed out.

“I know, it’s okay” you said leaning your head on top of hers.

“I wish you were a guy sometimes… maybe then i could be with you..” she mumbled out.

“what?”

She froze realizing what she said.

“Gosh, dont tell me i said that out loud..” she said.

“You did.. hey do you wanna discuss this somewhere more privately?” You asked before she nodded.

You went to a more secluded place with no other students around.

“I dont like Harry.” You said

“What?”

“I never did, you just assumed so, so i let it happen and… i didnt want to tell you that it’s always been you..” you said

Hermione felt tears rolling down her face even more.

“All this time, i thought it was Harry… and I knew i couldnt compete with him, because… He is after all the chosen one and..” she choked out before you pressed your lips against hers.

You cupped her face.

And she kissed you back.

That was all the confirmation you needed.

“I love you.” She mumbled.

“I love you too.”

“So I know he’s really loud and mean but ..bakugo” you said looking for a reaction

“Him? Out of all the people him?” She says with a confused look

“Yes he’s js so cute and smart and strong” you say but smth about this makes her stomach hurt and her heart feel like it just got squeezed

“Yeayea save the sappy shit for when I’m at your wedding” she says with a forced chuckle

“I’m way too young to get married I want to live life first and when I do you’ll be my maid of honor” you said cheerfully

You and Mina were laying on the floor of your dorm room Mina holding a blunt in her hand as she turns over to you.

“Yeah. Best friends” she gets up saying a quick good bye leaving you sitting on the floor wondering if you’d said smth or if she was feeling alright

You check your phone to see that bakugo had texted you ‘weird’

You take a second to respond on one hand your bestfriend from 1st year seemed off and on the other your crush from 1st year had asked you out. ‘I’ll check up on her when I get back’ you thought before typing out your response

You quickly got dressed and slipped on your shoes as you walked into the hall way you see mina walking out of her dorm that’s opposite of yours too

“Going somewhere” she said throwing a saddened smile

“I forgot to tell you! Bakugo invited me out to that new restaurant down the street” you said so happily you missed the way sadness contorted her features

“Already made plans? I just left like five minutes ago?” She said sarcasm dripping from her tongue

“Well I mean you decided to leave, I’m sure bakugo wouldn’t mind you coming.” You said confused ‘is she mad at me?’

“You didn’t even stop me. And no I have things to do have fun” she said rolling her eyes and walking away

‘Weird’ you thought walking to meet bakugo

He gives you a compliment on your outfit and with that you guys walk out of the dorms with a sad Mina watching you leave from the kitchen

“Have you told her?” Jirou says coming out of nowhere and scaring Mina

“Geez! Don’t do that! And no I can’t she’s not into girls like that” Mina says scrolling on her phone for that recipe she wanted to try with you

“Have you asked-“ Mina cuts Jirou off with a “no”

“Well you’re punishing yourself being in love with your bestfriend” Jirou says grabbing the seasons Mina is going to need

Time skip

“You look stunning” Mina says looking at you through your veil

“Don’t make me cry” you said fanning your face grabbing Mina’s shoulders and pull her into a hug

She smells your sweet perfume and hugs you tightly and pulls away “I told you so”

“What do you mean” you say with a small giggle

“Told you I’d still be at your wedding” she says tears already dry now replaced with a bitter sweet smile

“Of course you would be you’re my bestfriend” you say getting distracted by eri helping her fix her flower crown you missed the saddened expression that marks Mina’s face but Jirou doesn’t

As you leave the room to take some bridal photos Jirou walks up to Mina

“I’m so sorry Mina” she wraps her arms around her in a tight hug as Mina silently sobs into her shoulder soaking Jirous suit in her tears

You can hear the wedding bells and the start of the wedding song play throughout the hall.

You can see a teary eyed bakugo with his hype man/best man kirishima along with Kami and sero standing beside him and on the opposite side you can see an equally if not more teary eyed Mina

Tears were shed that day some filled with hope and happiness while others were full of heart break and realization that they were watching the love of their lives getting married (bakudeku moment anybody?)

As you and bakugo say your vows to each other Mina breaks into a silent stream of steady tears as she feels jirous hands come out to rub her shoulder soothingly whispering hushed ‘it’s going to be okay’s

Later on in the ceremony as you greet your guests one by one you pull Mina aside asking her for a dance

“Dance with me?” You said as if asking a boy and letting out your hand for her to take

“Of course who’d I be to decline your majesty” she says taking your hand guiding you to the dance floor there’s a slow song playing so she puts her arms on your waist and you move your hands to her neck looking up/down at her

“I love you” she blurts out “I always have and I always will” she says looking you straight in the eyes hoping but knowing you won’t say what she wants you to say, well, you will but you won’t mean it the way she does

“I love you too you’ve been such an amazing friend to me you’re like the sister I never had” you whispered to her tearing up before pulling her closer to you you feel her arms tighten around you not wishing to let you go

She looks over your shoulder and sees bakugo impatiently waiting for your guys moment to come to an end so she hesitantly pulls away whispering ‘I love you’ one more time

Time skip

“These are so heavy how much stuff do you have bitch?” Mina says carrying a couple boxes into your restroom and setting them on the counter

“That’s all my makeup stuff” you said with a giggle starting to unpack the boxes she js played down

“Not even I have this many things” she scoffs

“Thank you Mina really you’ve been my bestfriend for years and not once have you lead me astray” you looked over to her to see her stunned face

“I told you I’d be here for you always” she says walking over to you and laying her head on your shoulder as she looks at your face in the mirror “and I’ll always love you” she said

“I love you Mina” you say before bakugo shouts for you grab your cat food and supplies “duty calls from the ol’ ball and chain” you said jokingly leaving her to herself

‘Loving you hurts more and more every day’ she thinks to herself as she pulls out her phone and looks at the wallpaper of the same picture you had in your dorm

End of time skip

You and Mina were laying on the floor of your dorm smoking a blunt as she turns to you with half lidded eyes “I told you so” she says leaning in your lips only a breath apart

You wake up with a gasp sitting up and swinging your legs to the edge of your bed and putting your head your your hands looking at your wedding ring then to a picture of you and bakugo that rests on your night stand

You notice Mina in the back with tears flowing down her cheeks with Jirou comforting her

You look at bakugo and wish that it was someone else you were asleep next to
