Its genuinely dysregulating, especially to do so with no warning after things have stayed pretty much the same for YEARS.

My mom said she felt like she was walking on egg shells around me because she didn't feel like she could tell me things.

I told her that I really appreciate and value direct communication so we could discuss a solution that everyone is comfortable with.

I didn't think the things she wasn't okay with were the fundamental parts of myself that I have no control over and can't change. She told me my transness and disability makes her husband really uncomfortable and she said she doesn't approve of me going on disability as a 21 year old.

When I told her more about my health journey to give her insight as to why I need disability, instead of being even the slightest bit sympathetic, she got irritated with me and asked what I needed to do to get better as if I hadn't been working towards it the whole time.

And as for her husband, he literally just wants me to shrink myself so he doesn't have to confront his internalized transphobia or ableism.

Now they've been avoiding me, including going to the neighbor's for dinner without inviting me or even letting me know.

It's genuinely so triggering and making me feel so unwelcomed. Immediately it makes me want to fawn like how I used to before I moved out at 18. And she wonders why it took me so long to come home. Like BITCH maybe it's because you actively make me feel like it's not home and that I don't belong here...

Things had been so good up until then, and now I feel just as much that I don't belong here as I did for all of my teen years.
