What kills me as well is Gorgo challenged Eurypon in the first place because she wanted to create a new Kremnoan tradition. That's why she changed her name to Gorgo. She and Eurypon talked about changing Kremnos together starting with Mydei. So in the flashback where Eurypon begins to talk about ending the cycle of bloodshed with Mydei's death, he's twisting all the things they've talked about before to murder her baby.

Don't even get me started on Mydei finally leading his people away from those traditions but being unable to really experience it for himself before his death
