Guess what? It’s OK to ship people!
- Shipping is of a "what if" thought. Example: "What if 2D and Murdoc didn't have an abusive relationship?" Of course we know it isn't canon, but people like to imagine if it was.
- Russel, 2D and Murdoc are NOT Noodle's father figures. It has never been stated anywhere in any interview. There is no evidence.
- Noodle says she's "like the big sister of the group." See the word "LIKE"? It's because she's making comparisons. She's saying that what she does is typical of what a typical older sister would do. That's just her personality. So what if she called them her "brothers" when she was little? She was about 10 and knew no one else she had a close relationship with. And besides, the band broke up two times afterwards.
- Noodle is 27 now. You know what that means? She's an adult! There's a study from April 2017 stating "The average Briton does not consider themselves to be grown up til the age of 27." Noodle has lived in Britain most of her life, only further proving my point. Of course she's an adult: she drinks, she smokes, and she wears whatever the fuck she wants. It's not like she hasn't reached the age of legal sex. She's a fucking adult.
- The pedophilia criteria states you need to be older that 16 to be considered a pedophile, and the child must be prepubescent. All the boys are older than 16, but guess what? Noodle is as well! Therefore shipping Noodle with other band members from the Plastic Beach era to now without the need to alter age is NOT pedophilia, because Noodle is old enough for it to be legal.
- Look up 2Doc. That's it, go to Google images and search that up. Notice how most of the art ISN'T ABUSIVE!? Scroll down the whole page before making assumptions. Almost all of the images involve 2D and Murdoc engaging in some sort of intimacy. Not even a fraction of the results are abuse related in any way. 98 - 99% of images show 2Doc as either being a loving relationship, a joke ship or a kinky one. The 1 - 2% is either the “abusive” side or just something completely unrelated.
Let me just clarify one thing before I continue I DON'T ship any of them myself, alright? But DON'T tell people to delete their accounts because of something you don't like. Especially telling that to younger fans who don't fully understand the concept of pedophilia and abuse. They just want to see their favourite characters being loving to one another! That isn't promoting anything harmful!
Of course none of the ships will ever be canon. It's a fanon/headcanon thing. An imagine. Don't go and be a dick to anyone because you don't agree with their pairing. It's immature and you look like an idiot. Valid criticism does not mean you go harassing someone, send death threats or tell them to delete their accounts. They are the victims, not you. I loved this fandom when I first arrived since I'd never really been in one before. But you soon begin to realise that there's some horrible people who are that full of themselves that they decide to send anon hate to anyone and everyone who says against their beliefs, because they consider their belief to be the superior one due to their close-mindedness.
Honestly, I'm against pedophilia and abusive relationships. Now that might sound contradictory to the antis. Hear me out. The reason of this post wasn't to justify why these issues are ok. Absolutely not. It was an insight as to why people ship characters with other characters.
You can't call me out on this. I've had friends who have been sexually harassed by older men as a child, one of their mum's was raped as a teenager and the other suffered an abusive relationship. I've had an abusive relationship with my father. Get this - I give my 56 year old dad FUCKING THERAPY SESSIONS because he can't handle hit shit. That's how bad it was. No, don't get an adult to sort him out, but his own FUCKING DAUGHTER!!!!
My message is simple - stop being an asshole. They are cartoons. Stop harassing people because they don't live to your standards.
There was a nine year old boy who remarried a 62 year old in 2014. 53 year age difference. The family said it was for a ritual purpose. Now picture just any nine year old marrying a 62 year old. How is (for example) 2D, at his current age, being shipped with Noodle, pedophilia? They are cartoons with a 13 year age difference. The others are real life people. A marriage between a prepubescent boy and a woman old enough to be his grandma isn’t considered pedophilia in western culture? Is that what I’m being told?

And by the way, just because you don’t have information on someone who committed suicide, doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. You know why? Because asking for personal information on someone who ended their life, especially when your the one on the opposing side, is messed up.
