"Fool! Did you really think I would pay you for the Totem? Kill the (player's race)!"
--King Eadwyre immediately betraying you if you give him the Totem of Tiber Septim, after promising to beat and price that Akorithi or Gothryd offer you. Notably, Akorithi and Gothryd will actually give you 100,000 or 10,000 gold if you bring it to them. In fact, out of all the candidates for the Totem (Akorithi, Eadwyre, Gortwog, Gothryd, the King of Worms, the Underking, Uriel Septim VII), Eadwyre is the only one who will betray you.
When people ask Lurbash about those cheap bodice rippers about Gortwog and Lysandus’s “forbidden love” they laugh politely and hand wave it as “historical fiction” and “Fun to imagine but history loves to exaggerate”.
Behind closed doors, inside a safe sealed by a series of magic locks, there is a bundle of letters. Coded, much folded, and crumbling with age. Lurbash has read them, cracked the code easily enough, and has never published them, unlike the rest of Gortwog’s papers. Not because they’re explicit, but because they are deeply, tenderly, heart-wrenchingly private. What they had isn’t for others eyes. Lurbash just can’t bring themselves to publish them. Better to let old sad ghosts stay undisturbed.
Olarien the Blade meets Gortwog gro-Nagorm, king of the Orcs.
"Well met, traveler. Are you seeking treasure as well? Gortwog demands riches, so all of Tamriel will respect Orsinium. So we search the lands and bring home whatever we find. This makes Gortwog happy. I must return to my task, for Gortwog waits. May you find all that you seek, traveler."
--A randomly encountered orcish adventurer, from The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Did You Know: A delegation of necromancers was sent to Nova Orsinium to offer their services to the young kingdom? The necromancers offered to help with the defense of the kingdom, in exchange for the privilege of disposing of the orcish dead. It is unknown if King Gortwog accepted this proposal.
