Hey so, have you read the ASOIAF comic adaptations? And if so would you recommend them? I always hear that the books are better than the show and I believe it, but I can't get into them even though the plots sound interesting from what I read online. (For some reason I have trouble getting into long high fantasy novels, specifically.) I thought the comics might be a good compromise, but if they're just a rehash of the show it might not be worth it.
I have read them. They’re not a re-hash of the show, they’re definitely drawing all their influence from the books, BUT
the art is....hm....and again, the format, like the show, doesn’t really give any insight to inner thoughts or cues people can pick up in the writing and things. Also, they stopped being published in 2015, so theres only 24 issues which doesn’t even cover the story of the first book. So you can check them out, but you can’t really read them in place of the books.
I made a post about the comics ages ago (here)
