Gotak had never been the type to gush about a girl, but this time?
Yeah, this time was different.
You went to a different school, but you were the kind of person who could light up any room you walked into. Funny, confident, and always up for something spontaneous—it was hard not to be drawn to you.
He’d told the guys about you a dozen times already. Baku had started calling you “mystery girl,” Suho said you probably didn’t even exist, and Juntae joked that Gotak was way too deep in it this time.
So, naturally, when Gotak said you wanted to meet them, the guys all jumped at the chance.
“She suggested a trampoline park,” Gotak had said, scrolling through his phone.
There was a pause.
Then Baku grinned. “Yeah, okay. I like her already.”
When the day came, Gotak couldn’t stop smiling. He spotted you waiting by the entrance, hair tied up, hoodie sleeves rolled, a bright grin already on your face.
The moment you saw him, you waved excitedly. “Gotak!”
He jogged up, cheeks already aching from smiling so much. “You ready for chaos?”
“Always,” you said, leaning up to kiss his cheek before turning to the group behind him. “You guys must be the famous crew.”
“Famous might be pushing it,” Suho said with a smirk. “But yeah, that’s us.”
“I’ve heard a lot about you,” you said playfully. “Gotak’s kind of obsessed.”
Gotak groaned. “You’re just gonna expose me like that?”
Baku laughed. “Nah, we already knew, man. You’ve been walking around smiling at your phone for weeks.”
You grinned. “Good. I’d be offended if he wasn’t.”
Within minutes, you had them all laughing. You challenged Suho to a flip contest, convinced Baku to race you across the trampolines, and even got Si-eun to join in for a few jumps.
Gotak stood off to the side for a moment, just watching you.
Your laughter was contagious—bright and full of life—and even though you’d just met his friends, you fit right in like you’d always been there.
“Dude,” Juntae said, bouncing next to him, “you’re staring.”
Gotak blinked. “What? No, I’m just—uh—making sure she doesn’t fall.”
“She’s literally doing flips,” Juntae deadpanned. “You’re whipped.”
Gotak shoved him lightly. “Shut up.”
After an hour, everyone was sprawled out in one of the foam pits, catching their breath.
“Okay,” Baku said between laughs, “I officially like her more than I like you, Gotak.”
“Seconded,” Suho said, raising a hand.
“Same,” Si-eun added quietly, smiling faintly.
Gotak lifted his head, mock-offended. “Wow. I bring her here for you guys to like me more, not betray me.”
You laughed, leaning over to nudge him. “Sorry, babe. Guess I’m just more likable.”
“Unbelievable,” Gotak muttered, but his grin gave him away.
You giggled and tugged on his arm. “Come on, Mr. Popular. Time to prove yourself.”
Within minutes, chaos broke out. You were terrifyingly good at trampoline dodgeball—ducking, flipping, laughing every time you landed a hit. Gotak tried to team up with you, but you betrayed him instantly, throwing a ball that hit him square in the chest.
“Hey!” he said, laughing. “You’re supposed to be on my side!”
“I play to win!” you shouted back, grinning.
The guys were dying laughing from the sidelines. Baku had his phone out, recording the whole thing. “Bro, she just destroyed you.”
“Yeah, and he’s still smiling about it,” Suho added.
Gotak was. Completely. He couldn’t stop, even when he lost.
By the time you all ended up at a café afterward, everyone was still laughing about the game. You were in the middle of telling a story about accidentally kicking a ball into a stranger’s face earlier (“In my defense, he ducked weird!”), and even Si-eun nearly spit out his drink from laughing so hard.
“Okay,” Baku said finally, wiping his eyes. “I take it back. She’s officially part of the group.”
You raised your cup with a grin. “Does that come with an initiation, or am I just in by charm alone?”
“Charm,” Juntae said immediately. “You earned it.”
Gotak groaned. “You’re all unbelievable.”
You laughed, leaning into his shoulder. “You’re just jealous they like me more.”
“Maybe I am,” he said, smiling down at you. “But I’ll survive.”
When everyone split up outside the café, Baku couldn’t resist one last jab. “Hey, Gotak—don’t let her realize she can do better than you.”
Gotak rolled his eyes. “You’re just jealous.”
“Of her, yeah,” Baku said, laughing as he walked off.
Gotak turned back to you, chuckling softly. “They really do like you.”
You grinned. “Good. I like them too.”
He hesitated for a second, then reached for your hand. “Thanks for today.”
“For what?” you asked, tilting your head.
“For… just being you,” he said with a sheepish smile. “They’ve never laughed that much before.”
You squeezed his hand gently. “Guess you’re just surrounded by too many brooding boys. Someone’s gotta bring the chaos.”
He laughed, bumping your shoulder. “That’s definitely you.”
“Always,” you said with a wink. “But you like it.”
He smiled, unable to argue. “Yeah. I really do.”
And as you walked down the street beside him, your laughter echoing through the night, Gotak couldn’t help but think he was the luckiest guy alive— even if his friends liked you more than him.
