Every night before you go to bed, ask yourself, "did I make the gothic lit authors proud?" and if the answer is no, go find the calcified heart of your lover to carry in your pocket.

Wuthering Heights is a great work of fiction because it is a romance novel. Just look at a random example like, idk, Jane Eyre and you'll see how a young, intelligent woman in search for her own independance ends up marrying a horribly abusive man while the narrative actively roots for their romance. Emily Brontë took this story and merely removed the rose colored glasses from the viewer, showing what the tropes commonly used in romance actually look like when you're not being told they're desirable.
It also shows money and power are corrupt but that's a story for another day and yes I'll die on the hill that Heathcliff is as much a villain as he is a victim in the book lol.

Poe just autocorrected to poet, which caused me to laugh for a good five minutes. If that doesn't sum up my sense of humor I'm not sure what does.
