mikasa ackerman gets very nervous when you cuddle ˚.✦

You could be just watching a movie in your bedroom, lights low and kind of romantic. You've been playing with the rings on her fingers and her bracelets before dropping your head to her shoulder.

You feel her stop breathing at that moment, her breath stopped right when your head hit her shoulder. At the same time, millions of questions danced in her head. What should she do now? Hug you? Wrap her arm around you? You looked comfortable like that, so maybe she just stays like that. Yeah.

"You okay, Mika?" When she thought she could go back to breathing normally, you dropped that question. "Are you uncomfortable? We can lay back if you prefer."

You feel her tense up even more at your question, her shoulders stiffening like she’s been caught doing something wrong. Mikasa’s face is turned slightly away from you, but you can still see the faint blush creeping up her neck in the dim glow of the TV.

"Yes!" she said, maybe a little too loud. "I'd love that."

Now you head was resting on her chest, just above her breasts. Her arm was extended on your side of the bed, aching to wrap around you and play with your curls... but she didn't have the courage to do it. What if you think it was weird?

"Your heart is beating really fast," you muttered, voice muffled.

Mikasa tried not to gasp. "Sorry. I'm so sorry."

You lifted your head then, and she thought that it was done. She ruined it. She ruined the moment, you're going to take your stuff and leave even if it was your own bedroom.

"Am I making you nervous, Mikasa?" you asked, taking your hand and tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear.

"A little," Mikasa didn't try to lie. "But in a good way..."

She cuts herself off, biting her lower lip as another wave of nervousness hits her. Her cheeks are definitely pink now.

You smile, unable to help it. She’s adorable like this.

You shift a little closer on the bed, your arm sliding around her waist this time, slow so she can see every movement.

“You don’t have to do anything special, Mika.” You rest your head back on her chest, nuzzling in just a bit. “I love cuddling with you. And I know you like it too… even if you turn into a nervous wreck every single time.”

She makes a tiny sound in the back of her throat, trying to protest. But her body betrays her, she leans into you just the tiniest bit, her shoulder relaxing under your cheek.

“I do like it,” she admits after a long pause, so quietly you almost miss it. Her free hand finally moves, hesitating in the air for a second before she carefully places it on your arm that’s wrapped around her. Her fingers are trembling just slightly as they settle there. “I like it a lot.”

You take her hand that’s resting on your arm and gently guide it so her fingers thread through your hair instead. “You can play with my hair if you want. Or hug me back. Or do nothing at all. There’s no wrong way to cuddle, okay?”

Mikasa stays silent for a few heartbeats, but then you feel her fingers start playing with the ends of your hair, twisting them to see them go back to their place. Her breathing slowly evens out, though her heartbeat is still fluttering wildly against you.

“…You’re really warm,” she mumbles, almost like she’s talking to herself. “And you smell nice.”

You grin, pressing a tiny kiss to her shoulder through her shirt. “You smell nice too, Mika.”

getting caught making out with another girl at a frat party by one of the loser's in your year was not how you expected you would be found out.

now your main concern? making sure mikasa ackerman wouldn't open her mouth to one of her other loser friends.

getting your reputation ruined was not something you planned for. now, having to clean up the mess this impromptu hookup caused in order to keep your secret under wraps.

that secret being? what felt like being a crime against humanity, you being a lesbian.

just imagining the disgusted and horrified reactions of your friends, family, and classmates if anyone found out was the first thing on your mind when getting caught. so what did you do to prevent this? threaten to make the rest of her college experience hell if she let the word spill.

but that didn't exactly explain how you somehow ended up.. underneath mikasa. with her singing filthy praises and insults in your ear. asking how you think others would feel seeing you, the popular stuck up girl, mumbling incoherent words while getting ruined by a loser like her. one of the many insults you'd thrown at her and her friends in front of crowds.
