“Proud, for a certainty. Even arrogant. A faithful friend to Rhaegar, but prickly with others.”

Aegon has been shaped for rule before he could walk. He has been trained in arms, as befits a knight to be, but that was not the end of his education. He reads and writes, he speaks several tongues, he has studied history and law and poetry. A septa has instructed him in the mysteries of the Faith since he was old enough to understand them. He has lived with fisherfolk, worked with his hands, swum in rivers and mended nets and learned to wash his own clothes at need. He can fish and cook and bind up a wound, he knows what it is like to be hungry, to be hunted, to be afraid. Tommen has been taught that kingship is his right. Aegon knows kingship is his duty, that a king must put his people first, and live and rule for them.

Others might claim that the realm was lost when Prince Rhaegar fell to Robert's warhammer on the Trident, but the Battle of the Trident would never have been fought if the griffin had only slain the stag there in Stoney Sept. The bells tolled for all of us that day. For Aerys and his queen, for Elia of Dorne and her little daughter, for every true man and honest woman in the Seven Kingdoms. And for my silver prince.
I rose too high, loved too hard, dared too much. I tried to grasp a star, overreached, and fell.
Leaving this here to test the waters
Okay so this is very much informal and I'm just leaving it here to see how much response I get, but: since as far as the show goes seems to me that Jon Connington isn't happening any time soon and I really think he needs more fandom love, if I put up a Jon Connington appreciation week sometime in the next two months would people be interested? Just like or reblog this if you think you might be and I'll see from the response. Thank you for the attention :))
