Well done to our squad today who scored some valuable points in Canberra for the National Series STD Triathlon. Special mention to our Flying Dutchman Rene for getting 4th in his AG & to Darren, our Dutch school boy for getting 8th in his AG. What an amazing spot for a race! The weather was on too for the clear water swim, the country side ride & the sandy bush run. Much better than beach road 😜 Coach Kate grabbed 2nd overall & I got 10th overall & 1st in over 40. We had many racing in Australia & all results will be in #gpcworld tomorrow. Pretty awesome that nearly 25% of the people who raced Geelong Cross Country Club 10kms race in @queenscliff.victoria today were GPC members! Pretty awesome as well to have Amy Leverett from @profeetpodiatry as part of our squad and always available to help with tips on how to treat injuries and what running shoes best to pick. Well done to Marc Clayton for finishing 2nd today (for the 3rd week in a row) and to Coach Kate and Claire Davis for getting 1st and 2nd overall fastest Female time. I had to use this photo from Zoe Adams from today's race in Mordialloc. Such a great shot of all the old timers and the people who have helped GPC grow and becoming a success. This was the last race of the @activetriau Series in a OD format. Rich Tarr is missing from this photo but Rich has come a long way to finish in 8th in his AG in the sprint today after having a stroke a few months ago. Great seeing Nicole Robertson back in action. With not much fitness on the swim and run, she managed to grab 3rd in her AG. Steve Ralph and Brett Garth also did the sprint. Steve managed 3rd in M50-54 and Brett pulled out feeling sick. Then there is Zoe and Coach Kate, always racing well and grabbing the overall win for Zoe and the Elite win for Kate. Sonya Scholte is keeping going with her awesome season and another 4th spot in F35-39 & a PB, Bryan Benshoof did a PB in full IM training and grabbed 8th in M40-44. Ricky Leyonhjelm showed consistency and grabbed 2nd again in M25-29. Then there is me, 2nd overall but yet only 2nd in M40-44 behind the great Sam Hume. Well done crew. From Forrest to Wangaratta to Martha Cove to Barwon Heads to Barwon River Run to Moorpanyal ocean swim, it was a huge weekend for the GPC squad. All results and report will be in #GPCworld tomorrow 7pm. We had a small crew in @event_people_australia in Martha Cove for the enduro and the spectacle I predicted was delivered. 4 girls within 90sec after 2h12min of racing was awesome to watch, even if Sarah Lester got the better of our GPC girls. Shari grabbed 2nd overall, Kate 3rd and Zoe 4th. Will Cannon was too good in the male's race where I managed to grab 3rd overall. Crampy excelled for his first OD and grabbed 4th in his AG. Coach Peri and Coach Graham were on coaching duty at the @kondaktri in Barwon Heads. We had over a dozen of club members racing from first timers to top Age Groupers. It is great to have a sprint triathlon in our backyard.
