New book!!! I'm super proud of this and stoked because it is about one of my grandest walks yet! It is a book about a walk I did where I walked across the entire lenght of the Pyrenees mountain in Spain, from the Atlantic ocean to the Mediterranean sea, and then walked the coast of Catalonia for a week. It was about 45 days walking and more than 500 miles. The book is 92 pages and contains writing about the walk, stories from the walk and the context of my life of the time of the walk. It contains 330 photos from the walk and of graffiti I did along the way. The book is A4 size, professionallly printed in full color and saddle stitched. The book comes with 3 handmade stickers as well as 5 printed stickers. Each book also comes with a piece of the map I used for the walk which is glued onto the inside cover and which has handwritten and outlined on it the words "marcher arrant walked here." I love clouds.

Witness cirrocumulus clouds - a layer of ice crystals 10 km high in the stratosphere covering the sun like a veil.

The final barrier: El collado del diablo (Devil's pass) is a mountain pass at 2.721m with a lot of rock-work and some tricky bits. Even now in high summer there is snow up here...in other seasons this pass must be a bitch. Upon crossing I am full of smiles, wishing everyone on the other side a "great day full of success".

Proud of my achievement, I leave the trail at Salen de Gallego to prepare for another challenge: my South-African Field Guiding exam.

Ibones

All along the beautiful ups and downs of the Pyrenees, there are ibones: Pools of refreshing fresh water trapped by the rocks.

Not only do they offer a much-needed refueling station for drinking water, but they also make for great pictures, mirroring the mountains and clouds beyond.

But most importanly given the trail's heat, exhaustion and sweat, they constitute paradisical oases to refresh for a quick dip. Sí, son un poco frescos.

Without shame I will frequent a quick strip and jump in. Water temperatures vary strongly from refreshing to blizzard. The best strategy is to jump in and instantly swim forward. This way I enjoy about 20 seconds of pure joy before noticing that I need to return to shore instantly to avoid clinical death. In some ibones I do proudly endure a few minutes.
