Day 227 drawing #InfinityTrain until I forget or i die
does anyone even gaf about infinity train anymore (this worked last time please let it revive yall again) (also redraw below the cut)
buncha silly unfinished doodles!
Dudes named Grace and Simon trapped in a metal transport. Guy named Simon meets a grisly end partially due to a monster that's been a constant threat. Dude named Grace got to make decisions that led to happier ends for them. Also Grace has a non-human companion whom they help.
Call that Iron Lung + Project Hail Mary + Infinity Train.
So episode 6 of the amazing digital circus......
Jax doing/saying the most hurtful things to push his friend away that he realizes is pushing him in the direction of opening up and in turn having to confront the idea that maybe his whole mentality regarding the circus is wrong. He thinks that nothing matters in the circus, that all this isn't real, and in turn what he does doesn't matter; at least in his mind. He wants to avoid comforting his ideology, he doesn't want to think he was *wrong*, because his mentality of fitting into an archetype is the only thing that makes sense, and if what he thought made sense isn't actually true.... he'll lose it.
And in the next episode, he'll probably do something *even worse*, something *so horrible* to prove to Pomni that he truly doesn't care about anybody, proving that he is the archetype that he believes in so much....
Hey....this kind of reminds me of somebody else...
Simon and Jax are similar in the way that THEY GO TO THE EXTREME to prove that they are what they believe. Because they CANNOT bring themselves to challenge what they believe in, fearing that changing who they are will make them go insane.
But in the end....staying who they are and ignoring the need to change their perspective is their downfall...
They betray their only friend, the person who SO DESPERATELY believes they can change, FIGHTS for them to change....
But in the end they aren't able to get through to them. And that is *crushing*. It's especially more tragic in Grace's case because she knew Simon since they were small, it was them against the world. And it was *her* who convinced him to believe in the ideology that the higher your number, the more powerful you are; and no denizen on the train matters; they're nulls.
It's also crushing to Pomni in the sense that Jax reached out *to her*, and acts as if everything he said/they did together meant *nothing*. And if he abstracts, she will be devastated in the knowledge that she is the only one left who knew who he *could* be, the person he was underneath his act, and probably blame herself for not trying hard enough to get through to him; even though it was his fault he pushed her away.
Edit: Also another thing I forgot to mention is the fact that their worldviews are eerily similar. They're both in a whole different world that they're trapped in, and they believe nothing they do there matters and they can cause as much damage as they want without consequences.
I saw the similarities and couldn't hold back the urge to do an analysis/comparison, love both these shows and both Simon and Jax are very well written characters who don't play into the trope of being easily redeemed. Hope you enjoyed :p
Why everyone so awkward.
Slowly but surely pulling myself outta art block with the people from that train show.
