Hello! I follow your blog for really long now and I thought you'd be the right person to ask: when I recently watched Laputa-Castle in the sky, I noticed that the robot who lives on Laputa and cares for the plants and animals there is surrounded by little yellow cat animal things in one scene who just look like that little pet Nausicaä has (forgot it's name). Is this just a random similarity in these two films or is Laputa any kind of Spin-Off to Nausicaä (the robots also look quite similar)?
I am so sorry for the belated reply, I have been a little busy. Please forgive me :3 And you are correct, they are same creatures - fox squirrels. The one in Nausicaa is called Teto. Neither is a spin-off of the other, nor are the films related, but there’s a popular theory put forward that all of Miyazaki’s films are interconnected. If you remember, the susuwatari (soot sprites) also make an appearance in multiple films - My Neighbour Totoro and Spirited Away. I am no big fan of Drogo/Dany but do you think there is a difference between their relationship in the books and in the series? Sure, the situation of Dany beeing sold was the same but I kinda have the feeling that their relationship in the books later became somehow closer than in the series. But maybe I'm wrong! Correct me, please!
Other than the initial wedding night where she's STILL given no choice. It's give herself to him willingly or be taken by him anyway, it's not terribly different. I don't really care about that relationship so forgive me if I've blocked out any of the lovely dovey "sun and stars" crap because the initial trauma of how it began already set the bar for how toxic and wrong it was/is. He had his way with her when and whenever he wanted and her only way to gain some kind of equal footing with him was to placate him. Aka sex and to carry his son. And in doing so fell in some kind of love with him. Him loving her was her only source of power at that time.
