Sokka: Soooooo~ How ya doing?
Azula: I feel great!
Sokka: Really? Because you're cutting off the circulation to my hand....
Azula, letting go of his hand: Oh! Sorry, I'm nervous...
Sokka: it just meeting my family zula, it'll be ok
Azula: But it's your family! What if they don't like me... katara already doesn't like me, and I'm sure after everything I did, the rest of your family won't like me ether....
Sokka: Katara is still iffy on zuko. My gran-gran belives in second chances. My dad, im not quite sure how he will take it. But everyone else should be fine. you'll be fine.
Azula: EVERYONE ELSE?! WHO IS EVERYONE?!
Sokka: Whoa! Baby, I just meant my step-mom and my step-grandad
Azula: Oh.
Sokka, kissing azula: They'll love you just as much as I do!
Azula: You think so?
Sokka: I know so.
Assorted Evershore memes bc there were many iconic moments
In my opinion, one of the most interesting stories in the atla universe was that of Kanna (Gran-Gran) and I always wanted to know more about her adventures. The fact that she managed to travel alone, during a war, to the other side of the world is impressive, considering that she was not a bender and had not been taught anything about how to fight. Also, she left everything she knew behind and more than likely had some hilarious shocks when she discovered people with extremely different cultures from the one she had known all her life.
I don’t own Avatar The Last Airbender, even if I always wanted to 😢
Avatar Katara AU - part 3
A continuation of this post which was getting kind of long.
On the night that Katara was born, bright lights lit the inky sky across the entire globe. The Elders of the Southern Water Tribe declared it a bad omen. Saddled with that legacy, eleven-year-old Katara struggles with making friends and keeping secrets from her family. Secrets that could get her and them killed.
Because if it's one thing every Water Tribe child knows it's that waterbenders are dangerous. And Katara is a waterbender.
Waterbending is illegal at the South Pole, but that doesn't stop Katara from practicing in the shadows between her chores, meager school time, and trying to maintain rocky friendships with the other kids of the tribe. That all changes the night the Fire Nation attacks.
Now Katara, Sokka, and their friends are fighting for their life in enemy territory with Katara's secret hanging heavy over their heads ready to burst like a dam and change the world forever. Because Katara can bend more than just water.
Chapter 3
"Katara. Katara."
She woke with a start to her mother standing over her. "What's going on?"
"Get dressed now. Hurry."
Sokka sat up in bed, rubbing his eyes. "But it's still dark," he whined.
Her mother grabbed Sokka by the arm and sharply dragged him out of bed. "None of that mouth right now," she hissed.
Both Katara and Sokka froze. They had never heard her mother take that tone with anyone. She gave Sokka a good shake before releasing him. He made no other sound as he quickly dressed.
"Go help your grandmother," Mom told him then turned to Katara, mouth set in a thin line.
Katara hurried to tie her belt. "Mom, what's wrong? Where's Dad?"
"Katara, I need you to listen to me very carefully."
Katara stopped fidgeting with her clothes, eyes wide with fear.
Her mother seemed to struggle with something internally before coming to a decision with a sigh. She squeezed Katara's shoulders then slid her hands down her arms, taking Katara's hands in her own.
"There are a lot of things I wish we had gotten a chance to talk about. There's a lot of things I should have told you. Now there's no time."
"Mom, you're scaring me."
Her mom let go of her and reached up to untie the necklace she always wore—the one dad gave her when they got married. She carefully tired it around Katara's tiny neck with shaking hands.
"Always keep this with you so you know how much we love you."
Her mom's face blurred behind a wave of tears. "I don't understand."
