The dogs and I went to the airport dog park this morning. We hadn't been in a long time due to bad weather, sloppy trails, and other events. It felt good to get out there, despite the cloudy, breezy day. The dogs really seemed to enjoy it.
This MD-11 tri-jet below has been parked at MSP since November 4, when another UPS MD-11 crashed in Louisville. After that crash, UPS decided to retire its MD-11 fleet. They are older planes that the company wants to replace with more modern and efficient models. So this plane here probably has one last flight for its logbook—to the boneyard.
Last night I volunteered at the brewery to set up the monthly book fair. People seem to like it, though the number of books grows every time. It seems that some people bring six or so books and take one or two. There were some younger people in last night who seemed really excited about the selection. I told them to take as many as they wanted.
Grandchild picture. Heather is starting to smile. We have a family group text that has been useful for picture sharing. My dad likes being part of it, getting to see the pictures at the same time Sheila and I see them. It's fun.
Gift.:3

Now may I present to you-
Guadalupe Street, better known as "The Drag". Son of Austin and another grandchild of Texas. They/Them pronouns and is best friends with his cousin Leon Valley.
He loves to shop at record stores, vintage clothing shops, and absolutely loves the Ren Fair. He also may or may not be a Sax player in the UT Austin band. Most definitely making sure to "Keep Austin Weird".
At this very moment in a hospital in Israel, in a specialized neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), an intensive care unit for babies, receiving life-saving treatment, is no other than Ismael Haniya’s sister’s grandson. Ismael Haniyah is the Hamas leader, responsible for still holding 136 hostages, who publicly celebrated the massacre on October 7.
More than anything, this shows the difference between us, those who sanctify life, and our enemy, those who seek to destroy it.
I’m proud to be part of the Jewish people.
