The first year of Grandthorki Day, I did spotlight fic recs as a countdown in the days leading up to Grandthorki Day! At the time, there were only a few grandthorki fics to choose from, so I could easily include all of them as recs.

Now, however, there are more than enough grandthorki fics to go around. So I need help choosing! ^_^

In order to have your grandthorki fic become one of the five spotlight fic recs for this year, simply message me on loxxxlay or on this blog with your chosen information.

Having a spot for a spotlight fic rec means you can choose:

which grandthorki fic of yours is recced

which excerpt from the fic you want posted

which of the old countdown images/numbers is attached to your fic (first-come, first-serve)

If spots go un-filled, then I will make my own rec choices.

GRANDTHORKI DAY - OCTOBER 21ST -FANDOM EVENT

*Note: Due to the changes tumblr has made, this post and others have been updated for 2019. So to participate, please reread the instructions for this year!

What is Grandthorki?

Officially Grandthorki is a subtype of Frostmaster in which the Grandmaster coerces a platonically related Thor and Loki to engage in sexual activities with each other and/or with him. There’s tonns of possibilities where one could take that, so for a more nuanced description, see this post.

What if I don’t interpret the ship that way?

That’s fine! There’s nothing wrong with interpreting a ship a different way! ^_^ However, since Grandthorki was coined for a specific purpose, the above definition will be the only type of content that will be tagged as #Grandthorki on this blog.

If you would like to write a different interpretation, then it will still be reblogged! It will just be tagged as #GrandthorkiB instead.

However, variations of soft!Grandthorki/soft!Frostmaster (where it’s written as not even remotely dubcon/noncon) are not allowed for this event. I’m sorry. Your interpretation is valid; it’s just not worth my time or energy to cater content that I have no personal interest in.

That said, this is a hate-free environment. If you are hateful towards any ship, kink, or person, you will be blocked.

How do I participate?

It’s simple! You can post your content any time on October 21st (UTC-6). Please be sure to tag @grandthorkiday somewhere in your post. If you don’t @ me, then I won’t be able to find your post and I won’t be able to reblog it.

I will be reblogging all content in the tag for everyone interested to see on October 21st (and likely for a few days afterward). If you’re unable to post your content before October 21st, then that is okay; I will still reblog late posts if needed.

Note that it will help me a lot if all creators read the Rules before posting content.

I feel like it’s a blessing that grandthorki day is on Jeff Goldblum’s (the actor who plays the Grandmaster) birthday. Also I feel like we all should give you a huge thank you for making this happen. You’re like the savior for all of us who’re in this pit. Keep doing what you’re doing ^-^

Weirdly enough my birthday is very close to Jeff Goldblum’s birthday (October 21st), which is the day I set for grandthorki day (back before I realized all you lusty hooligans are just as lusty and hooligan-y as me XD). I only realized later that Jeff Goldblum’s birthday was basically the same day lmfao, which was a spectacular coincidence that I added to my pile of “things that make me believe in miracles” lmfao

Anyway I was really excited about grandthorki this year wahh!! Y’all’s content was so great! I’m working slowly through everything this year since I got burnout last year, but I have one more fic to read and tag and then I’ll be going through writing comments for everyone. Because really as much as I like.. organized the thing, grandthorki day would not happen without you lovely content creators and lovely content consumers 

So thank you all for being lusty hooligans with me and joining me for this fantastic whumpy darkshit lmfao I love all of you T_T <3 <3 <3

Grandthorki Band/Agent AU Idea

I am not going to write this until maybe closer to @grandthorkiday but if anyone wants to take this idea and run with it, godspeed.

Basic premise: Loki and Thor were in band in the early days of college (they can be brothers or not, dealers choice). Loki was the songwriter/singer and Thor was guitarist/backup vocalist/duet singer. They were a big deal in their home state and a bit of underground hit, but they hadn't ever broken mainstream. One day an agent for Sakaar Sound (this can be changed) blows into town and signs a record solo deal with Loki. Thor is heartbroken but supportive (or this could be a falling out, again whatever feels natural to you).

A few years go by. Loki is super celebrity. He's adopted a sexy stage persona 'Mischief'. But he's hiding a secret. He's basically enslaved by contract to his agent/manager, En Dwi Gast (some people like changing his name and you can). Desperate for escape he gets in contact with Thor again. Thor naturally wants to save him, but Loki just wants a log to hold onto has he sinks deeper into despair.

I've been listening to Shallow from A Star is Born on repeat and this is what happened.
