Adam (GRAVEN):
Adam is a gruff, rough survivor of a biblical apocalypse. He grew up in Washington with his mother while his father died when he was little. His mother remarried to a religious man when Adam was in high school, afterwhich his sister Eve died in a car accident. In his mother’s grief, she sen Adam to a catholic boarding school, where he had to repress his sexuality. He’s lived repressed his entire life until he met Sam at the school. He and Sam fell in love, then The Rise began and they were separated. Adam dreams of being reunited with Sam. Adam has a short temper, and is emotionally walled off, but deep down he’s a vulnerable, scared young man. He has a sarcastic sense of humor, too. Through surviving the apocalypse, he learns to embrace himself since there’s no greater society ruled by religion anymore to dictate how he should live.

The tomb of Victor Noir at Père-Lachaise Cemetery is one of the most famous in Paris. This young journalist, born in 1848 and a supporter of the Republic, was killed at 22 by Prince Pierre Bonaparte, cousin of Napoleon III. His death caused great public emotion, and more than 100,000 people attended his funeral.
The sculptor Jules Dalou created the bronze statue showing Victor Noir lying on the ground, his hat beside him, rendered with striking realism. The work honors him as both a victim and a defender of free speech.
A legend later grew around the tomb: touching certain parts of the statue is said to bring luck in love or fertility. These areas have been polished by visitors, contrasting with the green patina of the rest. Even today, especially on All Saints’ Day, the tomb attracts attention for its blend of tragedy, art, and myth.
Hans død vakte stor sorg, og over 100 000 mennesker deltok i begravelsen.
