having a big but small scene is great. you can get guestlisted by the dj, and bring your stripper friend and they know the other dj, and dance with the guy in the band who made your booty shorts, and make new friends, and become someone's first irl tumblr mutual, and the one dj plays a bunch of your favorites, and then the other dj plays VNV Nation before unloading the dankest heavy techno, and people are dressed up all in their own crazy ways, and so many people are dancing so hard instead of standing around.

Oh man. It has to be the line that I came up with before I even started writing this fic. It's pretty much the whole thesis statement of the AU and gives context to how this particular version of Veronica Mars can exist and love a man like Chase Graves...

“I spent the most of the last fifteen years feeling like a zombie on the inside –” Veronica reaches across the desk, grabbing Chase’s glass and quickly brings it to her lips, tossing back the last of the drink in one sharp movement.  “—becoming one on the outside just seemed inevitable.”

I actually think when I pitched the crazy idea for this fic to you and @nicemom93 that I used this piece of dialog as the whole crux of my argument that it may, in fact, work in a LoVe fandom to write a GraVer fic.

I think it worked.
