One of the great things about living in SoCal in the 80s was the diversity of music and movements going on. From the Rockabilly, Punk, Hardcore, and Ska scenes, to the lesser known ones like the Paisley Underground!
Bands like Opal (which became Mazzy Star), Green on Red, Rain Parade, Dream Syndicate, and of course The Bangles all channeled psychedelic classic rock and brought a flavor of the Byrds and Doors to the 80s music scene and it was fucking amazing!
