Quite often on the GRE, you would encounter words, which have secondary meaning and you will not be in a position to guess them or predict their definition in your wildest of your dreams. Comb as a verb means to look for, or to search for.

Pedestrian as an adjective means banal or lacking imagination or originality.

Affected
Affected as an adjective means pretentious, i.e. speaking or behaving in an artificial way so as to impress (as tested in GRE).

Telling as an adjective means something that is significant and stands out. Remember this word with this secondary meaning could be very frequent in the sentence equivalence questions.
Consequential
Consequential as an adjective means having too high an opinion of your own importance.
