Okay I kinda tweaked canon to have John and Abigail amicably split (I didn’t want to write her and Jack out completely, and I didn’t want to make him a widower nor did I want him to be unfaithful, so a friendly parting seemed to work out best).

Jes is the one to find him after he’s attacked by wolves, and she helps patch him up (in the slower old-fashioned medical way, as she’s pretty low on supplies up there in the damn mountains). John calls out a few names when he’s delirious, and as he says Abigail’s name the most, so Jessamine sifts through his memories for Abigail’s face when she casts the glamour. And it… just completely does not work. Which scares the shit out of her because why the hell is this dude completely immune to her magic?

She drags him back to the mountain after that (so the gang can find him), gives his forehead a kiss (he was a very good patient, and only glared at her just a tiny bit after the whole failed glamour thing), and she uses her blood to cast a few runes in the snow to keep the wolves at bay.

As far as their relationship goes… I’m gonna kinda pull from this shippy post and pick a few bits that apply to ‘em.

If they could each describe each other in one sentence, what would it be?

John: “She should be impossible, but she’s somehow better than that.”

Jessamine: “Sweeter than he lets on.”

What would be their ship name?

What were their first impressions of each other? 

Jessamine thought he looked so stubborn and brave–a man literally too angry to die–and she thought it’d be a terrible waste not to help him. John, through all the blood and pain and feverish haze, thought she looked way too calm for the situation. But she had a warm, steady voice, warmer hands (though that could have been all his blood on them), and always seemed to know just what song he wanted to hear. If he thought he had any imagination, he would’ve sworn he dreamed her up.

What are traits they dislike in one another? 

Jessamine wishes that John would be just a bit more emotionally expressive verbally (she knows he does what he can, and that he has non-verbal ways of showing that he cares, but sometimes it feels like pulling teeth outta him). John wishes she’d stop with the glamours. It may not work on him, but it works on other people, and he hates that she feels like she has to lie and hide who she is.

What are their favorite parts about physical affection/sex? 

Jessamine absolutely loves to kiss his scars (”Good thing I got so many of ‘em” “Just try not to earn any more, okay?”), and John still does that adorable lil head tilt/bump of affection. He might not know how to say he loves Jes, but he can at least show her.

And their favorite parts about sex is the fact that they have it together lmao.
