You’re so sweet! I miss it so much. I was speaking with my mum about it but Scotland is and always will be my home. It’s where I feel most at peace. And it isn’t just things like the fact there’s more outdoor spaces. It’s the whole character of these spaces. Scotland just feels different. English nature is very neat and contained and quite frankly meh to me (sorry guys, no offence intended, I would have English citizenship by birth if such a thing existed so I’m allowed to say that lol). The natural spaces in Scotland are wild, they’re slightly foreboding. You can see how we became the nation we did when we grew up in this landscape.

Haha it’s quite old now! Basically from my recollection in the lead up to the wedding there was loads of info that hadn’t been confirmed and KP/BP were releasing stuff about really small details. At one point there was a very enthusiastic press release about the carriages they’d be using and the horses. People found it amusing because it was just so enthusiastic and I think I made a joke about them letting a really keen work experience kid called Billy do the post on Twitter because he loves carriages and then periodically when something amusing happened with the PR Billy the Work Experience Kid would come up.

So I know it’s not relevant to the monarchy or anything, but thought I’d share a piece of nice news amongst this shitshow, I GOT AN UNCONDITIONAL from my first choice uni today, and I’m incredibly excited about that hehe 💚💚

YAY!!! Well done!! Do you have another year? I got my unconditional after I did my Highers in 5th year and so 6th year was basically just a free year. I did exams and stuff but I could have failed them all and it wouldn’t have mattered, it was great haha. I’m so pleased for you. That must be such a relief.

I need a rant to a fellow Scot hehe- I was at a ceilidh in Oxford the other night for a friends birthday and a lot of Oxford uni students were there, and a lot of them were being very condescending about Scots and everything and ugh I’m so annoyed, like it was incredibly rude and judegemental and I don’t live in England but if that’s their general view of Scots I’m gonna be fuming 💚

I didn’t know you were Scottish!!!!! Where are you from? (I can keep it private if you want, just let me know). I don’t get a lot of comments because my accent isn’t heavy so a lot of people don’t realise where I’m from. But you occasionally get people calling us Scotch or Jock and I want to punch them. And I was living in England during the independence referendum and everyone had bloody opinions about stuff that was not their business and felt it was necessary to share with me. You get some disparaging comments if you push. Like if I mentioned anything positive about independence they would fire back with how helpless we are and how they want an English parliament (they have one; every single person in Scotland could vote the same way and they’d over power us, it is their parliament). I think the main thing I notice isn’t an active dislike but more a complete lack of interest. They don’t learn about our history, they don’t learn about what they did to us for hundreds of years, a lot of them just have no curiosity about us or what matters to us. There is really no real attempt to consider anyone outside England for a lot of English people
