My birthday hike
Well, I did it! I survived another year. A year ago I spent the day in a hospital getting a cardiac catheterization and this year I decided to spend some time in the woods. I wanted to spend a few hours hiking around but had to be satisfied with a short (1.5 miles) hike at Monmouth Battlefield State Park. Bike ride Saturday. It was, as I feared muddy in a lot of areas. This made a few places on the trail super narrow. In one spot it was narrow enough that with bikes coming in both directions if one person did something wrong they would make us all wipe. A guy a couple bikes ahead of me locked handlebars with another guy and we all slammed on our brakes. I didn't hit anyone but did fall rather spectacularly onto my knee/side. I also got my sneakers muddy. That bothers me more. :) A few of the pro riders helped me up, asked if I was ok. Was nice of them. The guy who picked my bike up asked, "Do you have a facebook page?" Funny way of starting a convo. I said, "What's a facebook?" before hopping back on and riding off.
And now I AM STARVING. Must locate food stuffs now.
