These green beans cooked slowly taste like the ones Grandma used to make. With the salty bacon, sweet brown sugar, and sour apple cider vinegar, this dish is full of flavor and great for any event.
Ingredients: 2 lbs fresh green beans, trimmed. 1 large onion, diced. 4 cloves garlic, minced. 1/2 lb bacon, chopped. 1/4 cup brown sugar. 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar. 1 cup chicken broth. Salt and pepper to taste.
Instructions: Cook chopped bacon in a pan until it gets crispy. Take it out and set it aside. Leave the bacon fat in the pan. Dice the onion and mince the garlic and add them to the pan with the bacon fat. Cook the onions until they become clear. Cook the bacon and add the green beans, garlic and onion that have been sauted. Then add the brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, chicken broth, salt, and pepper. For 6 to 8 hours, or until the beans are soft, cover and cook on low heat. Before serving, stir it up well. Have fun!
