This classic homemade baked beans recipe combines the rich flavors of navy beans, molasses, brown sugar, and bacon for a hearty and comforting dish. Perfect for a family dinner or a potluck gathering.
Ingredients: 2 cups dried navy beans. 1 onion, finely chopped. 1/2 cup molasses. 1/3 cup brown sugar. 1/4 cup ketchup. 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard. 1 teaspoon salt. 1/4 teaspoon black pepper. 4 cups water. 1/2 pound bacon, cooked and crumbled.
Instructions: After rinsing, soak dried navy beans in water for one night. Soaked beans, chopped onion, molasses, brown sugar, ketchup, Dijon mustard, salt, and black pepper should all be combined in a big pot. Fill the pot with 4 cups of water and heat it to a boil. Once the beans are soft, reduce heat, cover, and simmer for two to three hours. Set oven temperature to 175C 350F. After transferring the bean mixture to a baking dish, top it with the crumbled bacon. Bake for 45 to 60 minutes, or until the tops of the beans caramelize and the beans are bubbly, in a preheated oven. Enjoy your delectable homemade baked beans while they're hot!
