Rewatching V5, and:
The board game scene is full of foreshadowing, but I'm more interested in the fact that the game developers decided to include Grimm as a gameplay element.
Yang's "You just activated my trap card!" line indicates that players are consciously controlling Grimm, though the outcome being dependent die rolls shows that this is a risky gamble, which could result in the
While Qrow's "World of Remnant" segment on the Great War claims battles were often broken up by Grimm attacks, could it be that in the past factions attempted to utilize the Grimm for their own purposes?
Congratulations to the Bumbleby artists and cosplayers who made the RWBY Facebook page for Pride, especially @dae-stuff !
It's quite the reminder that, despite being a cultural icon, RWBY is still pretty niche, every time people are listing off big sapphic couples in animation, they go "Korrasami, Catradora, Caitvi". Excuse me, Bumbleby!? 9 seasons cooking babies! And we're still going!
(Yes I know Bubbline eventually got there, and Steven Universe... was a thing that happened... and people forget about Harlivy because their show is patently adult... and MagiRevo is not on most Westerners radar...)
The point is, be a crazy fangirl for the Bees!
Oh hey of course I bought this:
It matches my Bumbleby shirt, which I literally fell with when I wore it skydiving.
Which incidentally gave me a fear of heights. I didn't have it before... but having to lean out of a plane two miles up and fall will fuck you up.
Rewatching Volume 7, and a few things are jumping out at me.
- Harriet isn't as much of a bitch as I remember.
- goddamn we were truly robbed of Nuts & Dolts. When a tired Ruby lays her head on Penny's shoulder, and Penny starts talking about how relationships are challenging and confusing for her? THEY WERE MEANT TO BE TOGETHER DAMNIT!
"Bumbleby was planned all along."
RWBY critics: "NUH UH Sun was the plan until woke LGBTQ mafia forced that gay shit! CRWBY lied about it and that leaked video is FAKE NEWS!!11!"
"Adam groomed Blake."
RWBY critics: "WEL AKSHUALY Barb said a thing at a con once about him only being two years older than her and one comic showed her wanting a relationship so that's CANON and grooming is TOTALLY DEBUNKED!"
I'm probably just being needy and whiney, but I feel like almost no one noticed that I dropped another chapter of We May Fall.
Being in a shrinking fandom is rough sometimes, and it's easy to get disheartened.
