The garden

I haven’t wanted to post pictures because it looks like a mess (it is a mess)

It’s so overgrown and weeds galore (honestly I’m not upset about weeds. I’ve read they can actually be beneficial, help keep the soil from being too dense and compacted which I have a problem with. My main issue with the weeds is they have gotten unmanageable!!! I have to fight my way to the plants)

Am I getting as much out of the garden as I should for how much work I’ve put into it? No. Have I learned a lot about how to do things better next year? Absolutely!!

Am I still getting things out of it? Yes!

I tried to do too much this year and I wasn’t prepared for all the problems and work that would arise. I have more experience so I can do it better next year though!

My two greenstalks, one is flowers and strawberries, the other is lettuce and micro-dwarf tomatoes. There's herbs sprinkled throughout both of them. I love these things.

LIGHTNING FLASHED OUTSIDE, closely followed by the booming sound of thunder. Heavy raindrops clattered against the glass windows of the building. In one dorm a student shifted under her blanket. Droplets of sweat formed on her forehead. Her eyes were tightly shut, the girl was lost in the past. Amano shifted again, her dreams—no, nightmares—were worse tonight. Her breathing became heavy, her chest felt constricted. Tragic childhood memories flashed in her head. Amano woke up with a scream.

She sat crossed-legged on her bed quietly sobbing into her blanket.
