These matcha cheesecake brownies are a delightful fusion of rich chocolatey brownies and the earthy, slightly bitter flavor of matcha, topped with a creamy layer of matcha-infused cheesecake.
Ingredients: 1/2 cup unsalted butter. 1 cup white sugar. 2 large eggs. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 1/3 cup all-purpose flour. 1/3 cup matcha powder. 1/4 teaspoon salt. 1/4 teaspoon baking powder. 8 oz cream cheese, softened. 1/4 cup white sugar. 1 large egg. 1 tablespoon matcha powder.
Instructions: Preheat oven to 350F 175C. Grease an 8-inch square baking pan. Melt the butter in a saucepan or in the microwave. Stir in 1 cup of sugar, then beat in the eggs and vanilla extract. Combine the flour, 1/3 cup matcha powder, salt, and baking powder; stir into the butter mixture until just blended. Spread the batter into the prepared pan. In a separate bowl, beat together the cream cheese, 1/4 cup sugar, egg, and 1 tablespoon matcha powder until smooth. Dollop the cream cheese mixture over the brownie batter, then swirl together using a knife or spatula. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the edges are golden and the center is set. Allow to cool before cutting into squares.
