That winter, Amelia and Roger were getting ready to meet their first baby.

Roger was so looking forward to becoming a parent. He had fond memories of playing with his father, even if those memories were dim now.

The two had inherited a large collection of glass ornaments from Amelia's parents, which Roger was excited about.

As a boy, his family could never afford such a lavish Christmas tree.

Diane and Greg were invited to join them for a small Christmas party, which also gave the newlyweds a chance to break the good news.

The whole family was shell-shocked after Rob's death, especially Diane. Losing the love of her life and her youngest son so suddenly had taken its toll. There was a part of her that faded into the back of her head.

Roger stepped up when it came to chores, cooking, and cleaning, but he didn't know anything about looking after children.

Greg spent a lot of time alone. He was once a bright and energetic child, but he couldn't imagine being as close to anyone as he had his twin brother.

The funeral for Robert took place the next day. A plot of land next to his father's and grandfather's graves. His mother and two brothers were in attendance.

Amelia Goth was there to give Roger moral support. During Rob's sickness, they had grown closer. Roger appreciated her being there to pay her respects.
