Everything looks like a happy ending for Kwannon and friends until she sees the facial horror that looks like Junji Ito's Tomie!

Psylocke (2024)
You know that comic run that'll make you a lifetime fan of a character, and you'll always call back to it as the reason for your love? This run is not quite that, but it comes very close.
Psylocke was an assassin, a killer for many years before she joined the X-Men. But the stains of violence still haunt her, and now that she has learned there are those preying on mutant children, nothing will stop her from enacting that violence on evil men.
One thing I really appreciate about Alyssa Wong, they keep adding non-binary characters to every run they write, of all sorts. The central trio of Psylocke, her assistant Devon and her boyfriend/friend with benefits John Graycrow make for a nice, rounded set of main characters. The villains they go up against are usually pretty good, but the final villain is tied very closely with Psylocke's backstory, which makes the ending feel more rounded.
It's good. I might need to re-read it to see if it works better when read as a cohesive whole, but for now I'd happily recommend it to anyone interested in Psylocke as a character.

Phillip Sevy wasn’t at NYCC this year but he did this John Greycrow commission for me with some more of John to love. That Kwannon’s a lucky woman.
// X-Men: Blood Hunt - Psylocke (2024) #1
🙂 Just got done reading Kwannon's solo Blood Hunt one-shot w/ John Greycrow.
Not that I really needed convincing, but...while Psylocke is great w/ the X-Men, she could definitely carry her own solo comic (🤩 + a red-band version? 🤩) & should be given the chance to prove that potential.
