𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐞, 𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭. Rey and Ben had managed to escape with their lives, along with the ship he’d arrived on. Co-piloting, Rey had flipped a few switches here and there to assure their trip was as stable as it could possibly be. She hadn’t uttered another word since their shared moment just fifteen minutes before. It wasn’t because she wanted to ignore him, this clearly wasn’t the case considering she had glanced over at him every few seconds; 𝘀𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗰𝗸 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗰𝗸.
They were lucky to be here, with each other no less. Biting on her lip slightly while she eyed him, it was almost as though 𝘀𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆, for if she didn’t he’d be gone. ❝ Ben? ❞ Rey managed to softly speak up.

“Should I mention that I have a severe phobia of flying before or after we’re airborne?” She doesn’t fidget, nor flinch in any way. Her demeanor reads cool, calm, collected. She won’t bring attention or acknowledge the loud scratching of claws that rake through nerves and veins below her skin. But she still stands, hands remain lightly clasped and gaze stays fixed on a face she’s grown to adore past the point of mere infatuation.
“Do I sit here, upfront with you? Or back there?” Eyes drop onto the passenger seat before heels pivot to angle her body in a nonchalant gesture towards the back of the ship. “I would also appreciate knowing where the emergency exits are. And yes, you have my verbal confirmation that I will help in aiding other passengers out of the aircraft if I’m to sit next to one.” Tiny joke, accompanied by a tiny smile.

Dinah whistled soft and low, “You know ... I can always appreciate a good right hook. Impressive.”
