buddie with theo and/or chris in the car and buck is driving but oh no there’s something on the road! he swerves and they go off a bridge into some water and buck is so panicked while eddie goes into soldier mode trying to get them all out. of course buck insists he gets the kid/s out first (not that he needs to tell eddie - he’s already working on it), and buck is trying to get out but his belt is stuck and he’s losing consciousness and he feels like the worst person in the world bc he put them in danger. but eddie saves him and he looks like an angel and he forgives buck, but buck can’t forgive himself.
they’re road tripping back from nashville and eddie has only recently realised his feelings for buck so it’s all so new. all he wants to do is look at him. so he does, while buck is distracted singing and he looks so beautiful because he’s having fun! but eddie isn’t paying attention to the road—he’s looking at buck, looking too long, and they go off the road. the car rolls and when he wakes up in hospital, buck all bruised and bloody in the bed beside him, eddie convinces himself that nothing good can come from his feelings.
buddie have been dancing around each other, tiptoeing the will they / wont they. both aware but not talking about it. buck is off work, maybe it’s lawsuit era so they’re not talking right now and things are tense. the 118 are called to a crash and the first thing eddie sees is buck’s jeep.
