One Lifer a Day, Day 1

This is a quick series that'll include my character designs and how i envision these characters. I choose each character via wheel and then draw them!

DAY 1- Grian

I imagine Grian to be shorter amongst the group. Because he has no canonical mouth, I used a scarf to cover it, or that could also be interpreted as a turtle neck, whichever lmao.

I have him standing on TnT as tribute to the fact he STILL has the highest player kill on the server since 3rd Life. If you look closely on his harness, I put pins and patches as references to different events.

-Dragon Egg is reference to TEGG in hermitcraft

-Mushroom is a reference to the mycelium resistance in season 7

-Fishing Pole is reference to this season, the mending quest

-Mumbo Stache is just a reference to Mumbo, could be interpreted as Grumbot or just the mustache shenanigans that occurred throughout hermitcraft

-Evo Symbol is self explanatory watchers ect

-Traffic Hearts is also self explanatory

i also messed around with his eyes a lot, considering a mask to cover them considering the cannon "holes into the void"

i hc that the watchers would want to cover them up after stealing his eyes for betraying them, hence the blindfold idea.

It’s been a while since I’ve drawn Grian so I made some quick sketches for expression practice and I also tested out a couple different designs.

If anyone has any questions about any of the designs, I’d be happy to explain! I put minimal thought into all of them but some thought is better than none

Doll grian headcannons

- his eyes look like buttons but aren’t, if you tapped them they would just be solid blocks

- looking into his eyes there’s hints of purple and the Evo logo (he doesn’t let anyone look into his eyes long enough to réalisé * no one wants to look at them long enough)

- He has painted on freckles all over his body

- On his back is a seen in Evo logo (like a branding to show who’s doll he is)

- he has dark purple stitching all down the sides of his body and around his joints.

- he’s full of Stuffing!

- The hermits have tried constantly to understand how he sees even when someone covers his “eyes”

- He claims not to feel pain but he does, they made sure to include that sense when creating his body

- He can swap bodies! If he claims another ‘body’ no matter what size he can stay in control of it (not many hermits are aware of this)

- when controlling a body some traits are taken with such as: the purple hints and logo in his eyes, any stitching turns purple and the evo logo is imprinted onto the doll- but only when he’s possessing it.

- when swapping bodies he will just go limp due to the dolls not having supports

- if he’s possessing a doll and he falls from a large height he is thrown out and forced into his usual doll (can panic some hermits when Grian falls and then doesn’t wake up)

- There’s random stitches on his face from where he’s gotten ripped.

- (if you have respawns in your au) When respawning the only thing that happens is any wounds are stitched up but they don’t disappear- hence all the stitches on him.

- you know when you get like like string and pick at it till all the threads are fluffy? That’s his hair (sorry I’m rlly bad at explaining)

- It’s quite hard for him to express emotions in his main body due to no eyes

- Not many hermits know this, but he’s an excellent tailor! (Making bodies and clothes pays of)

- He’s very silent! Being made of stuffing means the loudest noise he can make without accessories is a quiet thump like dropping a teddy

- he makes himself woolen wings, (using copper rods for supports) so that he can fly! ( for all you avian grian lovers)

- Elytra’s are usually much to large for his dolls and the lack of bones means he gets thrown around in the air- which is why he makes himself wings

- he’s usually around 1 block tall but likes to walk around in larger dolls

- he has a room of dolls. That’s it.

- yes, Ariana griande exists- he’s very proud of her design

- the hermits have never seen him die from a wound, only from hits (such as the iron golem in S8)

- he tries not to die very often around hermits as if it’s a wound then stuffing goes everywhere

- If you are near his body whilst he’s respawning you may notice eyes

- He can in fact go ‘afk’ and just hover around but he needs to make sure his body is safe first.

Sometimes Grian will find tiny mushrooms growing out of him ever since the mycelium war

He clips them off and uses them for stew

Small idea:

Evo is a Japanese speaking server and after grian escapes the watchers to hermitcraft no understands him until season 7 when etho is there to translate

Doc and Xisuma decided to fix a translator to his communicator so they could at least know what he's saying in chat, but it's literally the equivalent of google translate so it's not accurate and Grian rarely uses it

3RD LIFE AU!

So we all know how grian in the first session was going to bring in the creeper to the middle of the of the group to spook them and then kill it but it then killed scar?

Okay so I thought of an AU where grian succeeds in bringing the creeper to the middle of the group but not killing it so like a good portion of the group loses their first life and so grians just like "OH IM SORRY, GUY ILL ALL BE IN DEBT TO YOU GUYS UNTIL I LOSE MY FIRST LIFE!"

And so it's just grian running across the map, back and forth, trying to do what everyone wants him to do.

While this is happening all the people grian is in debt to is just trying to make sure he won't die since they want him the still help them out.

Like people that start to go red who grian is in debt to are having mutual agreements not to kill grian.

Anyone who is red and grian isn't in debt to is either faction buds with someone who is in debt to grian or doesn't wasn't to try and kill him since a good portion of people would want to kill em lmao

Headcanon that Etho is the only person who is able to talk to Grian when he's very sleep deprived bc he will only speak Japanese when he's like that and can hardly understand english
