Did I mention I was making her trans? I'm made her trans.
The Ice Magic is there because of s4 Seek, which I've now made her brother, who had Ice Magic. Essentially, Selena has Minor Ice Magic through family lineage.
Jericho Sideris : 23, Aug1, Leo, Celestial Spirit Mage, B Class, he/they, cis man (?), pansexual, human (mostly), 5'10.56"
Relationship(s): Mori (situationship-present)
Within the series Mori and Jericho have something going on but I'm unsure if I want it to be end-game
Celestial Mages have a slightly warped view of gender due to .The Spirits™
Also a little bit Not Human, it was mentioned that the Celestial Spirit King has a soft spot for him, so I imagine there's something going on there that I'm just not privy to lol
Davis Boura : 35, Nov15, Scorpio, Lightning Dragon Slayer, A Class, he/they/it, dragonqueer, straight, human, 5'6.62"
Relationship(s): Katherine (wife-present)
Davis joined Grimshade a bit earlier in my rewrite, so that's why he's here and Bryan isn't
Lilly Drosos : 28, May23, Gemini, Plasma (Light) Mage, A Class, she/her, cis woman, abrosexual, human (distant fae ancestry), 5'7.69"
Relationship(s): none
Brought Lilly back from the dead (/silly) because I love her
She is what's known as a legacy member, her family have been members of Grimshade for generations... I wonder for truly how long..
I've mentioned that I'm reworking some of the Guilds' architecture and that's mainly with the new Grimshade Guildhall I'm sorry I'm a hater anyways as soon as Lilly came back she took over the bar and renovated it to her liking (Allumos didn't stop her)
Bren Andino : 37, Apr30, Taurus, Beast Slayer, S Class, he/him, cis man, straight, human probably, 6'10.38"
Relationship(s): married (present), unknown children
Also brought Bren back! I love this drunken guy we need more non aggressive drunken guys (looks at Ritchie)
Marked as "human probably" because I'm genuinely unsure if that guy Is A Human I mean he's a Beast Slayer
He's only like half a member of Grimshade, he pops by every now and then to help out, but doesn't live within the Guild grounds
Patrick O'Conner, alias: Trigger Finger is a re-quip 'gunslinging' mage who's a part of the guild, Grimshade, serving as an A-Rank.
His magic allowed him to summon magical bullets which he loads into his huntsman hangun in order to fire. Since they are magic, his bullets have magical abilities, from healing, to numbing pain, to even strength enhancement.
~
Cannonically has around 790 Kills. 🔫
He is a family man, he sends 95% of his paychecks to his family who are struggling on the other side of the world. (ep: 7, S4) 🤍
He buries and prays for everyone's deaths, from innocents to criminals. He even buried the monstrous creature that was attacking that village. (ep: 3, S4) 🪦
He gave up his body, mind, and magic to become Allumos's vessel all for the safety of the City of Atlantide. (ep: 15, S4) 💎
He allowed Viper to meet and stay with his family despite Viper having threatened to kill them to let him heal. (ep: 19, S4) 👨👩👧👧
His future self came to the past to try and warn people of overarching evils, sacrificing his own life to save Allumos. (ep: 28, S5) 💀
He uses Gemini in order to protect Allumos from being killed by the 2nd in Command of Evil Ritchie, getting choked and having to give Allumos a life lesson. (ep: 31, S5) 🐲
Hey this is the second installment of Toffie's rewrite/au, that for simplicity's sake I am calling a rewrite.
I thought I was done with the story changes part of my rewrite (I'll also need to elaborate on the bullet points I had made in my last post) but then I started redesigning La Carnival starting my OC-ified Flurry, and I realized that I did change enough where it would count as a sort of story change.
So I decided to use this post to ramble about my ideas about how the magic guilds and magic council function and their roles in Atlantide.
So this will be the second part of my FTO rewrite.
Some ideas I have are that the guilds have specializations and if you want something specific you'd go to one guild over the other, but the guilds don't only do their specializations they also do other kinds of quests especially low ranking ones like C and B rank. More specialized ones tend to be in A, S and SS rank.
So let's just organize it alphabetically, cause why not. Except the magic council goes last. Canon stuff in the first paragraph the rest after is mostly me just making up things for the rewrite.
Divinus Magia: The main reason that this guild was formed was to reform criminals. It is also the only canon guild with two guild leaders rather than one guild leader and one second in command. Founded 7 years before season 4.
• The second newest guild in Atlantide during season 5. In season 4 it was the newest at 7 years old.
• It is the most unconventional guild in Atlantide.
• First guild in Atlantide with two leaders, since if Devin/Eden and Michael had been allowed to do that we wouldn't have to had worried about The Garden.
° This was likely something that the twins demanded since they see each other as equals, and wouldn't have been happy otherwise.
• This is also the guild known for reforming criminals and on that point how would this work exactly well I have some ideas.
° A lot of the people who join Divinus Magia would be petty criminals that would also be mages. And as we know it's hard to hold mages in jail if they don't use anti-magic cuffs. So they send them to Divinus, plenty of the petty criminals would serve out their time on the island doing quests and then once their jail time is done they'd be allowed to leave. This also gives those who were petty criminals by necessity a chance to be able to earn some money so they can eventually go back into society and not need to do things like steal to survive.
° This means that once they serve their time they are allowed to leave, but they aren't allowed to leave before they do so.
° More time can be added to their sentence if they continue to do crimes and break laws like David.
° Dodge the lightning bolt is supposed to be a punishment for misbehaving guild members, and is supposed to encourage them to not break laws and to not commit crimes.
• Dangerous or potentially dangerous mages are also given to Divinus Magia to watch over and evaluate whether they are a threat or not. Not including season 4 Grimshade since they also keep quite a few dangerous mages (Viper and Colin).
° It's why Micheal gave Devin to DM.
• They are also allowed to arrest criminals and take them to their guild.
° Part of the reason that many criminals are given the join or die ultimatum is because mages are hard to keep in jail and it would be common practice to kill misbehaving mages than to hold them and make them serve their time. It would be too much of a hassle.
° The join or die ultimatum also gives them a sense of choice in what happens to them. When they don't really have much of a choice.
• Also fun fact in medieval times if you were charged with a crime you would be branded accordingly, just saying.
• Grey Skull: (The word Grey looked wrong for a bit idk why) The dark guild that was run by Ritchie and Brandon. OC-ified Flurry was in it too.
° I think that most members were runaways, since all known members Brandon, Ritchie and Flurry were. Meaning quite a few of the members are pretty young.
° They would often ambush merchants on the road to provide for the guild.
° OC-ified Flurry made a garden. She was also fairly high ranking in the guild due to the fact she was in the guild for a few years and favoritism from Ritchie. She's like a den Mom.
° Ritchie and Brandon actually caused the most trouble by instigating fights with other mages. To just see who was stronger.
° The twins during this time wouldn't cause collateral damage on purpose, unlike their counterparts.
Grimshade: Guild founded by Allumos, it was mostly dragon slayers back then. Guild leaders of Grimshade usually have a scythe. It's 400 years old. Mostly known as a mercenary guild in season 4.
• The oldest and the first guild in Atlantide. Since old Mario mentioned it used to be a fishing town, it likely didn't have any magic guild there before the dragon war.
• After the dragon war Grimshade probably did a lot of dragon hunting, to make sure there were no lingering dragons to hurt people. This would then evolve to Monster hunting. Then over the 400 years it eventually becomes a mercenary guild known for assassination.
• The reason that Allumos used a scythe is because it's a farming tool with a long blade. Long blades would be necessary to actually do damage to dragons since they are very large and have thick scales.
° I think Allumos' second in command during the war also used a scythe. Why? I think they should be besties. Then the second in command would teach others how to use a scythe. This is how it would become tradition for the scythe to be used by the leaders of Grimshade.
• Code names and pseudonyms started being used by Allumos and her guild mates as both a coping mechanism and a way to be more organized.
° Allumos is a pseudonym, I will make a post later with all the characters ages, names and pronouns.
• During the dragon war Grimshade's base of operations would be a cave system and tunnels underneath Atlantide by Sagittarius.
° These would later be repurposed into the sewer systems and the large areas under Atlantide (such as the portal area, the place Abraham uses, the library where Allumos' lachrima is, and the Wandering Coins Guild).
• The Garden (of Genesis): The guild created by Eden when he left Grimshade. A dark guild. It fucking floats.
° Why does it float? Does Eden use his magic to make it fly there's a spell circle under there. Or does he use lachrima to make it fly cause I'm confused.
° It's kinda a cult, it's kinda that way in canon tho.
° Religious guilt
° The entire thing screams religious guilt. Eden, Garden of Genesis, Abraham.
° I think the guild was made cause Eden was bitter. But it was also said by I think the CC that while Michael wanted to be guild leader cause he was supposed to, Eden wanted to be the guild leader cause he needed it. So if he couldn't be the leader of Grimshade he made his own guild.
° He remade the Grimshade Guild Master's office, as his own office.
° The members are either his followers again it's a cult, or like what happens in season 4 Eden's allies.
The Protectors: They act almost as the enforcers of Atlantide. They have a jail under the guild, as well as a medical wing and a library.
• They are the second oldest guild in Atlantide
° I think it would be interesting if the guild was originally an offshoot from Grimshade. Because they have dragons in their Guild mark. It could be founded as support for rebuilding efforts in Atlantide. It would be founded after Allumos is in the Lachrima.
° I want it to be founded by an apprentice to the second Guild Master of Grimshade.
• In FTN they are just straight up the police force, so I think that it would be common for the Protectors to be the main law enforcement of Atlantide.
° The jail under the guild supports this.
° It would be like towns or individuals could hire members of the protectors to do guard work for them. They would do this through quests, but in some cases they could be long term and be in contract form.
• During the leadership of Lo'Pho it is a bit different since all the main members in the series don't do that kind of stuff. There could be other members that work on long term guarding assignments, that we don't often see.
La Carnival: The sort of entertainers guild. They have shown some aspects that would help or want to help the homeless population in Atlantide. The newest guild.
• I got inspired a bit by Commedia dell'arte while designing OC-ified Flurry.
° So now all members of La' Carnival have a stage name corresponding to a mask in Commedia dell'arte.
• They would have two different kinds of performances, they would have plays and they would have more circus like acts.
° During the plays they would wear masks all except for Cecil cause the sad clown doesn't wear a mask.
• They follow the clown code.
• They should have days where they give out food to the homeless.
° Really I think they should give support to the homeless population in general.
° Am I specifying this because I hate the way homeless people are treated in real life... you decide.
• They should have members who are there to perform in their shows, even if they don't have magic.
Wandering Coins: The thieves guild of Atlantide. No longer a standing guild since the guild fell apart with the death of the guild master Reaper.
• They would have been the second newest guild in season 4.
° I can't decide on how old I want them to be though. Cause I don't think Reaper founded the guild but it would be interesting if he or one of his predacesors did.
° Guess who they're an offshoot of that's right Grimshade. Am I doing this because Reaper has a scythe as a weapon and they live in the sewers (which would have been dug out and been used by the founders of Grimshade in the rewrite), yes.
• Like Grimshade they also use pseudonyms.
• I feel like they would function almost as reconnaissance for the guilds since they are supposed to be very sneaky as well as stealing.
° Like I kinda want them and Grimshade to be similar to a degree but unlike Grimshade they don't kill people usually I'm looking at you Viper.
The Magic Council: The council of the four main guilds of Atlantide. Made up of originally 9 members, 4 guild leaders, 4 second in commands and the grand master. They meet to discuss things going on with the guilds and potential threats. At least I'm pretty sure that's why they meet idk.
• The Grand Master is an elected position, when the old one either retires or dies a new one is chosen from current Guild Leaders.
° They are the tie-breaking vote in decisions made in the Council.
• In the rewrite Austin and Bri get to be the Grand Master, cause that's what was supposed to happen before they left the series.
° They get one vote together.
• They make decisions regarding the Magic Guilds, and other things relating to magic.
° They are not the governing body of Atlantide. Just as normal Guilds didn't rule the government in Medieval times.
Other things of note are that Atlantide has other councils in place. Such as non-magic guilds, civilian council etc.
GMG is almost a show of faith to the people of Atlantide as well as entertainment, because if you've been in a history class talking about Rome, they would say you need Bread and Circus's to entertain and keep the people happy. Bread is food, and Circus is entertainment. It also shows that the people who are protecting Atlantide are strong.
Here's some food you guys @wooffloofstudios @missingfileerror
A project I’ve been working on since last january has launched the kickstarter campaign. ⠀
Finally I can show you some of my creatures’ design for the “Grimshade” project.
