(applying winter 2019 for fall 2020)
[featuring my ramblings the things that I don’t like about some of them]
Barnard - low sense of community?
Bowdoin (Bates? Colby?) - really like Bowdoin, worried about distance from major cities & partying culture (only listing party culture concerns here although it applies to a few others on the list).
Grinnell - not - at all - sold on Iowa
Harvey Mudd (legacy) - distance & I’m into natural sciences, but I’m not quite as STEM-ish as they’re looking for (?)
Pomona (legacy) - I’m over 2000 miles away
Reed - not sure that I fit the quirky Reedie vibe, it’s also really far... but the dream of the ‘90s is alive in Portland
Wellesley - I’m worried because I know people who went to Wellesley and they all talk about the stress or how it was hard to make friends
what I’m looking for: strong biology program (props for mol bio, looking to go into clinical research), small-ish LAC, conference style classes, STEM research from the start, liberal, good FA, low stress culture, high grad school admission rates (not sure between MD, PhD, and MD-PhD).
Feel free to suggest & tell me I’m wrong
