I've always been of the opinion that long hair is a luxury.
Not everyone can have beautiful, luscious, long hair, because
1. Not everyone is willing to put in the work to get it like that and maintain it.
2. Not everyone can afford to.
Beautiful long hair isn't just haircare. It's about lifestyle as well. Nutrition, exercise, stress, habits.
Of course, this applies to any hair length, but it's a lot easier to see on long hair when you're not doing these things than on shorter.
It's also about your willingness to put in the effort and the work. The steps in the shower, before and after it, the maintenance. Some of us prefer to be more low maintenance and that's ok, but be realistic and understand that it just doesn't look good when your hair is long, frail, frizzy and breaking apart.
Also, the truth is, not everyone can afford the maintenance. Look at what you can afford and make a decision on what haircut and style would work best with that.
Beautiful long hair is a luxury and if you're not willing to work for it or can't than maybe consider a chic short hairstyle.
