Since Drax, Pete, Gamora and Rocket all raised baby Groot as his parents, and the fact that in a galaxy full of different alien cultures, societies where non-monogamous dynamics would be the norm or at least somewhat common, there were probably at least a few misunderstandings during missions where the four of them were thought to be a polycute raising a kid.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY REACTING TO YOU FALLING ASLEEP NEXT TO THEM AFTER A BATTLE:

PETER

Peter's heart would melt: he finds you extremely lovely. He knows you deserve some rest after the tiring battle and he's glad to be there, next to you, to caress you and make you relax. He looks at you, eyes filled with love and corner of lips curved into a tiny smile, before pressing a kiss on your forhead and letting you sleep.

ROCKET

Rocket would panic: he doesn't even know what to do. It never happened before and he's so confused, then he looks at you: he immediately relaxes, seeing how peaceful and angelic you look. He calms down and slightly smiles, his hand caressing your cheek and his heart beating faster than ever.

DRAX

Drax would be speechless for the first time ever: you look so beautiful, with your hand resting on his chest and your breath perfectly regular. He smiles and brushes a lock of your hair behind your ear, while trying not to move too much to avoid disturbing you.

GROOT

Groot finds you adorable. He looks at you, his eyes scanning your face while he smiles, knowing how tired you were and how much you actually needed rest. He caresses your cheek and sees you moving to pull him closer, so he tilts his head while hugging you from behind.

GAMORA

Gamora is so grateful to have you, and eventhough she isn't exactly good with these things, she tries to cuddle with you. She wraps you in her arms and pulls you closer, her eyes filled with love keep scanning you. She is still mesmerised at how beautiful you are even when you sleep. She caresses your cheek and slowly falls asleep next to you.

MANTIS

Mantis would be so happy. She can feel how relaxed you are, how peaceful and she is glad to see that you feel free to be like that around her. She spoons with you, her fingers drawing figures on your arm while she smiles, falling asleep next to you.

BONUS + YONDU

Youndu is so proud of you for the way you fought, so when you fall asleep next to him he's glad fo see you rest. He smiles, loving how calm you look, and softly caresses your back. "Sleep, kid, you deserved it." He whispers and proudly smiles.

Taking care of Baby Groot:

Playing music to try and distract him.

Always having to look down to make sure he’s still there.

(He’s usually not)

Freaking out when he gets a minor injury.

Bothering the other Guardians to help you take care of Groot.

Carrying him in your pocket or on your shoulder.

Not being able to stay mad at him because he’s so freaking adorable.

Trying not to laugh when he gets mad because he looks so silly.

Ending up becoming really close to Groot, and him being super protective of you and growling at anyone who gets too close.

MCU headcanon:

Flora Colossus (Groot’s species) don’t ever stop growing due to their regenerative capabilities. The oldest members were said grow to thousands of meters tall. It’s why Yggdrasil is referred to as the world tree, as in some Asguardian legends, it’s said it was once a flora colossus that grew so old and so impossibly large that it transcended its physical being and became the nebula that connects the realms together. It’s partly why Groot’s language is taught as an elective, as it’s believed to be a sacred language.

This is more for MCU Rocket and Groot i but they met bc a bunch of kids (and I mean a bunch) were throwing stuff at Rocket (who was still kinda small at the time) so Groot i grabbed the bunch of kids and shoved them away since he has a soft spot for animals, and Rocket definitely tried to scratch at Groot i at first but it didn't do much since the guy is made out of bark. Little did the two know they'd become best friends ^^

Groot is capable of sustaining himself on water and nutrients from soil through his roots like most trees and plants, but he likes drinking liquids and eating solid food through his mouth. Especially in social situations like when he’s getting lunch with Rocket. If any other members of his species met him they’d probably think he was weird and uncivilised for taking in nutrients through his communication orifice.
