Today was very... unexpected lol.
I had two job interviews.
The first one was for a job as a ground agent leader in a small airport 30 minutes away from the house. It’s a 6 months contract, 30 hours a week. Work every week end, 3 days of during the week. I used to love being a ground agent, and the interview went great. They’re suppose to give me an answer in 3 weeks.
The second one was actually a second interview for a job 5 minutes away, 5 days a week, 35 hours a week. The job in itself isn’t very interesting (secretary), but it’s a long term contract with no end date. I would be able to pick up Olivia from school every day. No work during the week end.
I was very torn between the two : the reasonable choice vs the “heart” choice.
When I arrived for the second interview, the guy told me he liked me a lot last time, and that he’d met a few other people but he wanted me for the job, starting monday. So.
At first I was very surprised because I thought I’d have a couple of weeks to take my decision. But then I decided to be reasonable.
I’m tired of looking for a job, of not knowing how much money I’ll have to live the next month.
And although I would have loved to work in an airport again, I would have had to ask for someone to watch Olivia every single week end for 6 months, and the pay wasn’t that great. Not with the highway fee and gas prices.
And with this contract, if I like the job and everything goes well, when I’ll be done paying back what I owe to my mom, I might even be able to buy a little house.
Reasonable it is. I guess I have a job now :)
