I heard the first Meadowlark of the year!
With everything else in my life going to shit, at least spring is still here.
Look at that side eye!

Our attempt at ground driving. I know most people teach it like lunging and use the whip, but that stresses Mary out and I wanted to avoid that as much as possible. So we went about it with a different approach, with me starting on her side leading, and having the far rope run behind her bum instead of over her back. It worked pretty well, she got the hang of it pretty quick, and was willing to stretch down. We even progressed to the point where I was able to walk behind her in the transitional way, so not bad for a first session. We did run into another issue, where the rain has been so intense all the grass trails are super overgrown, plus Mary is still sensitive on the gravel trails, so we ran out track pretty quick. They've been mowing the pastures the last few days, so I'm hoping the trails get a fresh mow soon so we can go a bit farther.
Heading back to the barn.
Gonna start ground driving toast when I get back in town! I foresee this being difficult being that she will prob try to turn and face me 99% of the time
