I wanted to share something I learned today - that made my day.

Watching The Meg 2 with my mom (meh movie that I’ve already seen but was mostly for background noise cuz I’m sick and festering on the couch) and this part comes up where SPOILERS three (*gasp* 😜) megladons come swimming up and all sarcastic I’m like:

“Oh no. Here come a school of megs… Wait. Pod? 🤔 Ok. Now I need to know.”

So I whip out the ‘ol Google to find out what a group of sharks is called.

Guys… GUYS… A group of sharks? 🦈 Is called a

Shiver 🥶😰

Gave me shivers. Straight up my spine! SO COOL! Had to share!

And now I will share with you my other favourite animal group names 😁 Because… Why the heck not?!

Groups of Animals

So I’ve been sitting on TikTok for too long and one video I saw listed a ton of animal group names to restore faith in humanity, so now I am going to share group names that I found on google that I liked an unhealthy amount. This started with me wanting to know what a group of foxes was called, but that name was boring.

1: A destruction of wild cats. Where do I even begin with how perfect this name is? I love it.

2. A dazzle of zebras. They are fantastic, showstopping, ✨d a z z l i n g✨

3. An unkindness of ravens. Everyone knows about murders of crows, but an unkindness of ravens just sounds so much nicer. Let’s stop sleeping on other corvids, give ravens a chance to shine in your gothic aesthetics. 

4. A generation of vipers. The picture included on the website I found this information from was very cute and snakes in general are cute so that is why this is included. 

5. A wisdom of wombats. Share the wisdom. One spare braincell please.

6. A gaze of raccoons. They are watching 👀

7. A candle of anteaters. Why are they a candle- how do these two things relate? I don’t know, but their diet consists of my least favorite thing on this earth, so pop off I guess.

8. A harass of horses. Whoever was in charge of the names clearly had some beef with horses my gods.

9. A sluthe of serval. I don’t even know what that word means,  but servals are my favorite wildcats so I had to include them.

10. And last but not least, a mischief of magpies. After my mini corvid rant with the ravens I realized I had to include my favorite corvids. I will probably add to this post later with a whole list of just groups of different corvids because I love those funky lil birds.

I’m stopping at ten so it’s not too long, but I might reblog later to add more funny animal groups on if I find them. This information might be inaccurate, idk, it’s google-sourced, so it’s 50/50 either way. Reblog with any funky animal grouping names you know, I’d love to hear them :0!
