Writing Prompt Ideas

1: Two characters are subjected to their worst fears, but with a strangely comedic twist. It turns out to be a test from a third character to help them overcome their respective fears.

2: While on the run from the authorities, a trio run down a back alley and find themselves in a Goth nightclub. Chaos ensues.

3: A thoroughly despicable individual gets a thoroughly hilarious comeuppance.

4: “Whatever you do, don’t let him anywhere near the piano forte!” Odd instructions to give to a pet sitter.

5: The filming of a serious interview goes awry when someone decides to photobomb it, not realising that it is not only a video, but a live broadcast.

This film feels like both the best and worst Christmas present I’ve received yet [Spoilers]

Like, it gave us the Ben redemption arc and the reylo kiss we wanted, then it somehow took that away again

It’s OK - A Reylo Oneshot

(Warning - Spoiler Alert for The Rise of Skywalker)

He gave his life for me. He didn’t have to, but he did. He loved me, just as much as I loved him. I still love him, with all my heart. I know he’s at peace now, but I can’t stop the pain of losing him from boiling over now and then. This is one of those times.

Rey felt the tears spilling over, running down her cheeks. BB-8 gave a concerned warble. She gently patted the small droid on the head. “It’s ok, BB-8, it’s ok,” she said, but she didn’t really believe it. As she sat with her legs drawn up against her chest, Rey buried her face in her knees. “It’s ok, it’s ok,” she whispered through her sobs, trying to force herself to believe it.

A gentle, deep voice murmured softly to her. “It’s ok, Rey.” She looked up and saw him, glowing blue, a comforting smile on his lips. She stood up, hardly believing her eyes. Ben wrapped his arms around her, and they felt just as warm and loving as they had when he was still alive.

Rey hugged him tight, a great feeling of warmth and peace spreading throughout her. “It’s ok,” whispered Ben, kissing her. “You’re not alone. I’ll always be with you. Always,”

Further Thoughts on The Rise of Skywalker [Spoilers]

Sure it took a couple of hours of solitude and a good long cry, but I think I can actually form a solid opinion of Ben’s fate in TROS.

As some of you may know, I’m kin for this character. I just see so much of myself in him that when I watched his death, I almost thought that I’d only be able to make a difference in the world if I literally died for someone. Of course, I only thought that because I was having an emotional overload at the time.

But that time I took off of here to take care of my mental health has paid off and I don’t feel as hysterical about it. Yes I feel upset and sad, that’s a natural part of the process, but what I’m saying is I’m learning to handle those emotions in a more healthy way.

I know there’s a lot of people on here who are livid about this film, but I honestly don’t have the energy to be angry. I’m just gonna focus on the positives of this; Ben got his redemption arc. He and Rey canonically love each other. That’s all I really wanted. The death part wasn’t needed, but I like to think Ben’s spirit will always be a part of Rey.

Could this have been done better? Yes. Was it a disaster? No. There’s a middle ground between the two that I feel the whole thing neatly fits in. I need to steer away from negativity for the sake of my own psyche, so I’m just gonna love this film for what it is.
