The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords (manga)
A long time ago, the evil sorcerer Gufuu was sealed away by a hero using the Four Sword. But when an evil that resembles local hero (and loner) Link, the young boy must draw the sword and split into four different versions of himself. But he cannot work with anyone, and now there's more of him! What are the four Links to do?! (Book by Akira Himekawa)
This book is fine. Its action is passable, the story familiar, the stakes not raised and the tone light. The most notable thing are the characters: not just the four main characters, but five characters in total look like Link. The fact they can all be differentiated by art style and facial features is a feat in itself, but that they can also go on to have their own arcs is also something else. Vio and Shadow (Dark Link, not the Hedgehog) get perpendicular arcs that make it feel like you're looking at five different views of a single person.
But the truth is, you're not. The four Links are only different because they needed personality, and it was the bare minimum needed. I can see why these characters have a special place in some folks' hearts, but I wish it was contained within a better story.
