So... I'm thinking quite a bit about Bakugan lately. Mostly about Alice/Masquerade, Hydranoid, and Leonidas. Also a bit about Spectra Phantom and Helios. Not all of these thoughts are big ideas for much, just a bunch of random little ones that share an origin point.

Like probably a lot of people, I think New Vestroia would have been a bit more interesting if Alice and Hydranoid were part of the main cast. Her not being part of most of New Vestroia feels like a missed opportunity. Especially considering she was basically the main antagonistic rival of the previous season. I've heard that there is a fanfic where Alice is part of the New Vestroia cast, heard it's actually considered pretty good, but I have yet to read it. I want to rewatch all of Bakugan from Battle Brawlers up to Mechtanium Surge, to see how well I think it ages.

Legit, I missed the ending of Battle Brawlers and the first half of New Vestroia back when I was a kid, so when I caught a random episode of NV, for a second I thought Spectra was a redesigned Masquerade... Then I think Dan and Spectra started chatting and I got the info that Spectra is a new antagonistic rival for the main character. A new antagonistic rival that shares a few bits of character design that looks similar to Masquerade. I imagine the shared bits of character design is to make things still feel cohesive in some ways if you missed something.
