I need you to answer this because I thought I summoned kyubey yesterday but I accidentally summoned a demon..good thing he stopped pulling my soul out of my body when he figured I hated demons and told me I wsnt worthy to become a mg...

Pay attention everyone: This is not how you approach people for free readings. Don't worry, we'll go through the different problems here!

Number 1: Overfamiliarity

No, I do not know the querent in any way other than seeing them harass mutuals and non-mutual Tumblr blogs about their magical girl practice and trying to make everyone else do their job for them. Even within the scope of this blog, they have told me very little about them and keep coming to me with what is essentially the same question.

Number 2: Seeking A "Right" Answer

This querent is not looking for insight in their practice. They are asking a yes/no question and clearly want the answer to be yes.

I literally don't even know what their practice is about. I've tried poking around their blog to learn more (which is ABOVE AND BEYOND what a tarot reader should have to do) and I left feeling more confused.

Number 3: Referencing A Thing I Know Nothing About

As previously established, I don't know about Kyubey. I'm not part of Mahoublr, even if I'm poking at it with another blog to observe them. From what little understanding I've gained of the series since then, though, I'd certainly describe that shithead little cat thing as a demon, personally.

Honestly, the god of your chosen magic system turning you down blatantly is the clearest sign you're ever going to get. I can't help you there, buddy.

Number 4: Hey Jasper, What Was That About Harassment?

Yeah, this person and their alternate blog @/sylviasideblog have been pestering me, a few mutuals, and then some random IRL mahou blogs that I've seen in the pop culture magic/pagan tags because they can't take "just do your own damn work" for an answer.

Hello Rena, you have come to the right person! Not only do I do tarot readings, but I am also a practicing pop culture occultist over on @jasper-pagan-witch! While I am not, myself, a magical girl, I know of quite a few blogs who are! So we'll start with the reading and then I'll drop some blogs and links of interest for ya at the bottom, yeah?

So to start with, let's get into the reading part! I'm going to rephrase your question a little bit, into "How can I continue my goal of becoming a practicing magical girl?" just for ease of reading. I have selected The Guardian of the Night Tarot thanks to its strong animal theme, as I know that many magical girl series have a lot to do with animal companions. This is a beautiful collage-style deck (unfortunately, I do have to clarify that it's not AI-generated, because we live in a world where creative endeavors are being shilled to art theft machines) and it has given us the Nine of Wands upright.

Look at that beautiful fucking porcupine.

Anyway, the main theme of this card is boundaries according to the deck's author herself. Sometimes, you've gotta step back and take a break - you can't go at 100% all the time. You gotta let some things happen to you. The path you are looking to tread involves a lot of responsibility - any contract with a spirit typically does, but especially so when you're setting yourself up to be a magical protector. You've gotta pause and take a look at yourself and your motivations. What about being a magical girl appeals to you? What are your lines, and how likely is it that they will be crossed?

These are things that you should definitely keep in mind as you read on for my recommendations.

My first recommendation is to find your community. I know of a few blogs who are at varying points in their magical girl magic/witch/occult/pagan practices - @majokkid, @cl0udii, @noctuarie, and @kuhli-mahou are just a handful that I know the existence of! You can also check tags here on Tumblr like #irl mahou or #mahoublr.

As for book recommendations, while it's not an overtly witchy/occult book, The Magical Girl's Guide to Life: Find Your Inner Power, Fight Everyday Evil & Save the Day With Self-Care by Jacque Aye could be an interesting read for you! It's more self-health or self-care focused, but it's only a few degrees off of being a pop culture magic book in its own right! My review of it can be read on @jasper-pagan-witch at this link! I quite enjoyed it.

When it comes to learning tarot, my best advice is to get a deck you really like and to jump right in. You can find magical girl series-inspired decks all over Amazon and Etsy and Ebay, but you don't even need to limit yourself to that! There are tarot decks for nearly every theme you can think of, from animals (including specific animals) to mythology to queer decks to the run-of-the-mill Rider-Waite-Smith deck. Just getting a deck that you like and find easy to read will do much for you. Beyond that, I also have a bunch of posts saved in @jasper-grimoire under the tarot section that you might find interesting! There are nearly a million different ways to read a deck and to do divination, so you've just gotta jump in and learn.

I don't know you, and we haven't talked about anything other than readings you've come here for. I don't know your strengths and weaknesses, and I'm not part of mahoublr. I don't know what a Kyubey is. I can't sort this out for you, as I have no idea who or what the entity you're asking about is and the "I can't read minds" things goes in that direction too.

I recommend using your own divination tools (any that you have access to, or online tarot card pullers/generators, or whatever) to answer this question for yourself.

Thanks for the reading! It seems that the card wants me to think about why i want to be a magical girl, and become one by contracting with a familiar. However i would also like to know how specifically i will get to he/her (the familiar) like do i do a spell or a subliminal and he/she pulls up or i just need to sit back and chill and wait a familiar to come to me? Idk i do a Lil witchcraft so of this question is too specific you might need to use the pendulum and ask a yes /no question.

Hey, I don't do pendulum readings, and I say in my guidelines that I don't do yes/no questions. That's not what this blog is for.

I can't direct you to anything that may help on this point, because I'm not a magical girl chaote myself. I recommend reaching out to your community (the ones in the tags I mentioned) and seeing how they went about it. It seems like a few of them didn't even need to reach out to a familiar to begin with in order to become magical girls themselves.

If you're looking for more information into witchcraft, I recommend Grovedaughter Witchery by Bree NicGarran as a beginner 101 book. It's really great stuff. For broad pop culture magic/witchcraft/paganism stuff, I have a masterpost on @jasper-pagan-witch. You could also begin looking into how traditional witchcraft deals with initiation, as this seems adjacent to that (unfortunately, I don't practice traditional witchcraft either, so I've got no specific resources to recommend). But like I said, I'm not a practicing magical girl, so I can't give you any resources that are magical girl-specific that I didn't already outline in the post of your first reading.

This seems like a path you'll have to beat in the woods yourself, and I wish you the best of luck!
