It's great to be back Tumblr!
First and foremost, allow me to apologize for not having posted anything for a year, though I don’t think someone would care for any updates. I actually just happened to be cleaning off my emails when I saw a message from Tumblr congratulating me for having lasted for a year and I was like “Oh I forgot I have a Tumblr account.”
This “blog” actually started during an undergraduate class of mine where we were required to have a blog and post anything in relation to our future profession. But know that I’ve graduated, I think a change of perspective is necessary. From here on now, my post would not just be more about my profession but it will be anything under the sun, particularly about things I’ve done.
Now, since I have been out for a year, I would like to give you an updated of how has been life for me after my first post. Here is a timeline of events:
February 2014 – This was when I posted my self-made, UN-proofread article about the irony of politics and (Public) librarianship in the Philippines. This was also the time that I finished and have successfully defended my thesis.
March 2014 – One of the most exciting month of the year!!! Finally after having spent almost 5/6 years in the university, I finally have heard the sweet sound of the graduation March song. Yes I managed to finish my degree with honors (not so humble ei?!).
April 2014 – After that oh so sweet March, here comes the nerve wracking, spine tingling April. The month in which we have been scheduled to take the Librarians Licensure Examination so that we can be to juggle both finishing the number of hours for our internship as well as doing self –review.
May 2014 – Bitter yet Sweet victory! This was the time when all of our efforts were paid off after hearing that we passed the board exam but it was also kind of bitter since there were some of us who did not pass the exam.
May 2014 – March 2015 First job as a professional librarian. After having heard of me passing the board examination, I received a text from a colleague saying that a certain school (near the place where I’m residing) is looking for a librarian. Even though, I have worked before (as a call center agent) I wasn’t able to help myself but feel excited since this will be the official first librarian work that I’ll be doing if I pass the whole process and I did.
True enough, being a one-man GuyBrarian is rewarding since you are the one who can decide what will become of your library. I can honestly say that I have definitely done many positive work with this school’s library that’s why I have devised a plan to leave this school this May. It is hard to leave but I guess it’s better to be the one who will the adjustment rather than to disrupt the “system” that people in here are used to.
Up till now, I still haven’t felt the vibes of becoming a librarian that is why after my resignation, I will try to look for that place where I can say that I belong. It maybe is librarianship or maybe education or information technology or anything else but I mean who knows?

Men and Their Cats
While the stereotype of the cat lady librarian persists, New Yorker and photographer David Williams began his Men & Cats project back in 2009. “I wanted to show that regardless of gender, many people have found the joy that cat companionship can bring.” While not a librarian, David himself lives with his cat in Brooklyn, NY. He is originally from Denver and graduated from the Art Institute of…

One of our sixth-graders brought in 50 Shades of Gray. Into a class room. I think it's time for the Guybarian to come back.
So who wants to start the American Guybrarian Association with me?
This hot redhead came into the library I work at today
like I looked at her and I was like hol' up...took a double take ... I tried to look her in the eyes ...lol prolly the hardest things I had to do in a while. She reminded me of Jessica Rabbit. I was helping her out with shit so we got to talk...she had an accent too...sounded german...or swedish...she was just UNF
I'm gonna be a daddy
I find myself sitting here today and the prevailing thought passing through my mind ad nauseum is as follows: "I'm gonna be a daddy. In a matter of days, maybe hours... I'm gonna be a daddy".
I've spent the last several days on what I keep referring to as "High Alert". Phone on loud. Plus vibrate. Check every message. Check every email. Check on wife every hour or so.
It's surreal. I'm sure anyone who's ever gone through it can atest, and anyone reading can imagine. But it's absolutely bonkers.
I'm gonna be a daddy. In a matter of days, maybe hours... I'm gonna be a daddy.
I'm not ready, but I'm okay with that. I'll never be ready enough. But I'm excited. And I'm confident. And I'm absolutely in love. I know that'll go a long way.
Will I be in to work tomorrow? Not sure. Monday? No clue. I briefed my coworkers on my programs for next week. I prepared my storytimes for the next three weeks. I spoke with my supervisor, director, payroll, and HR person. If I'm not in tomorrow, at least I'm covered.
I'm gonna be a daddy. In a matter of days, maybe hours... I'm gonna be a daddy.
Fucking bonkers. Good bonkers. Crazy bonkers. Happy bonkers. Nervous bonkers. But bonkers. Just bonkers.
Just checked my phone again. Didn't ring. Didn't buzz. Didn't light up. I checked it anyway. Nothing new.
But I'm gonna be a daddy. In a matter of days, maybe hours... I'm gonna be a daddy.
This is pretty wonderful.
