So I've been wondering what could've happened to Rumi's dad, and the fact that Gwi-Ma sounded surprised about Rumi being a half-demon makes me think that if Gwi-Ma had indeed killed Papa Demon, it wasn't because he fell in love with a Hunter and sired a half-demon child. What if Gwi-Ma killed him because Papa Demon had successfully rebelled against him? This is something I've been thinking about since Jinu explained that Gwi-Ma controlled the demons through 'shame and guilt'. We've seen what Papa Demon looked like and he's the same type of demon as Jinu and the rest of the Saja Boys, which means he probably got it through the same way by having his wish granted and his soul taken. So what if around the time Papa Demon before met Mi-yeong (Rumi's mom), he started to accept his mistake and deal with his guilt? What if he started moving on, working bit by bit to no longer be weighted down by something that happened decades ago? What if he started to forgive himself? And then he meets Mi-yeong, and he's able to walk those final steps and frees himself from Gwi-Ma. They have a child and she's precious and he loves both of them so much (just look at the concept art! He's completely smitten! In love! He loves his human lover and his baby girl so much!). And then Gwi-Ma finds out about this rebellion and knows if the other demons find out they'll try to follow, and then Gwi-Ma will have less minions giving him souls until there are no more he can forced into servitude, and thus he has Papa Demon killed? And then Jinu unknowingly starts to follow in Papa Demon's footsteps but Gwi-Ma nips it in the bud before he has another rebellious hunter-lover on his non-existent flame hands
